摘要:
Fifteen species and subspecies of the genusPyrobombusare recorded in Turkey. They are listed together with their horizontal and altitudinal distribution, habitats and flowers visited.P. serrisquamais recorded for Turkey for the first time. With 2274 specimens collected,P. incertusproved to be the most widespread and abundant species, recorded from about sea level up to more than 3000 m. It was followed byP. niveatuswith 1467 specimens andP. soroeensiswith 1400 specimens.P. sulfureuswas found at only two localities with five specimens, and it should be classified as »endangered«.

摘要:
The epigeic soil fauna was studied in the northern part of the Sinai Peninsula, in the area of Rafah, Egypt. The soil fauna was collected in an area cultivated with peach orchards on a monthly basis between May 1991 and April 1992, using the pitfall trap method. Air and soil temperatures at different elevations and depths as well as the relative air humidity were recorded. The activity density of the soil fauna and meteorological records were treated by the multivariate analysis technique, including correspondence analysis and ascending hierarchic classification. The dominant taxa were Tenebríonidae and Formicidae. Changes in activity density of the recorded groups of soil fauna seem to be seasonal and influenced by air and soil temperatures as well as air relative humidity. Higher values of Formicidae and the presence ofGryllusspp. seem to be related to the pattern of land use practised in this area.
