摘要:
The pericarp structure has been investigated in 11 species representing the genera of the subfamily Pogostemonoideae (emend. Cantino et al. 1992):Anisomeles, Colebrookea, Comanthosphace, Leucosceptrum, PogostemonandRostrinucula. The pericarp structure ofAnisomeles, ColebrookeaandPogostemonhave been found to resemble that of the subfamilies Lamioideae or Nepetoideae. The three related genera,Comanthosphace, LeucosceptrumandRostrinuculahave been found to have a divergent type of pericarp, which lacks sclerenchyma and has druses and a type of cells with scalariform secondary thickenings in the mesocarp. The three genera are suggested to be extraneous in Pogostemonoideae and their systematic position is uncertain.

摘要:
The closely related neotropical melastomean generaPterogastraandSchwackaeaare revised, the species illustrated, and their distribution mapped.Schwackaeais maintained as a monotypic genus because it is readily distinguished from all other melastomes by its 8‐winged capsule. This weedy little plant occurs from Mexico throughout Central America, chiefly on the Pacific slope, to northern Colombia and on Cocos Island and grows in natural or man‐made savannas from sealevel to 2000 m altitude. Two species are recognized inPterogastraand one new combination,P. divaricataspp.glabra, is made.Pterogastrais characterized by distinctly 4‐ or 5‐winged capsules, unlike those ofSchwackaeaor any other New World melastome. The more widespread species occurs in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Ecuador, and Peru at altitudes between sealevel and 2600 m in natural or disturbed grasslands. The second species is endemic in southwestern Venezuela and is confined to natural savannas at low al

摘要:
Pterolepisconsists of herbs and small shrubs with pink, purple, or white (3‐)4–5‐merous flowers, stamens with basal‐ventrally prolonged connectives, and cochleate seeds. The majority of the species occur in central Brazilian cerrado vegetation, but two weedy species have become widespread, one ranging from Bolivia to southern Mexico, the other from Paraguay to the West Indies.Pterolepisappears related to the paleotropical generaOsbeckia, Melastoma, andDissotisand to the neotropical genusTibouchina. The main diagnostic feature of the genus are branched emergences in the intercalycine sinuses but these are variable among the species and also occur in many paleotropical and two neotropical species, casting some doubt on their taxonomic value above the species level. WithinPterolepis, 14 of the 80 taxa proposed by previous authors are recognized and eight species are illustrated; one new species,P. picorondonicafrom Amazonian Brazil, and a new variety,P. parnassiifoliavar.piatensisfrom Bahia, are described. Also provided are scanning electron micrographs of the seeds of most, and distribution maps of all

摘要:
A new species,Rinodina canariensis(lichenized Ascomycetes, Physciaceae), is described. It usually grows parasitically on saxicolous crustose lichens in Macaronesia and in the Mediterranean region. It is well characterized chemically by the presence of gyrophoric acid. The characters of the new species are compared with those of other taxa of the genusRinodinacontaining gyrophoric acid.Rinodina albaandR. atrocinereaare reported from the island of Madeira for the first time. A short survey of lichen‐parasitic species ofRinodinais give
