摘要:
In this work an exact solution of the equations of the steady flow for a viscous incompressible fluid through a conical tube is presented when the Reynolds number is assumed small. The obtained solution is valid for every angleθ, with 0≤θ≤α, whereαis the angle of divergence of the conical tube and which is small, so that the flow must not be separated from the tube wall. The distributions of the dimensionless velocity and pressure gradient are found to be affected by the angle of divergence of the conical tube.

摘要:
The management of heat of reactions in a packed‐bed catalytic reactor is “a priori” during the design and operation of such system. In the case of extremely exothermic reaction, the improvement in heat transfer will assure reactor stability and prevent runaway and explosion. Two experimental schemes were selected to study quantitatively the effectiveness of heat transfer improvement. Within the range of present experimentation, the improvement in terms of percentage increase in kermay be as high as 40% in case of mixed particle bed. In the case of square‐wave cyclic operations in gas flow, this improvement ranges between 4 to 10% increase in kerdepending on the magnitude of particle Reynolds number.

摘要:
GaAs1‐xPxthin films have been deposited onto glass substrates at a rate of 50Å/min. in a vacuum of 5 x 10‐5Torr using a successive evaporation method. Thin films of various compositions (X = 0.3–0.9) were obtained at gallium source temperature TGa= 870°C, arsenic source temperature TAs= 275°C, phosphorus source temperature TP= 330°‐363°C and substrate temperature Tsub= 265°‐330°C. Compositional, optical (absorption) and electrical properties of the films in a thickness range of 1300–1900 Å were determined by using an X‐ray diffractometer, a grating spectrometer and an electrometer respectively. The experimental results were compared with those for simultaneous evaporation and discussed from the atomistic viewpoints.
