摘要:
The volatile oils from roots, stems and leaves ofAristolochia triangularisChamisso were analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Twenty components were identified including the previously reported (−)-α-copaene and β-elemene. The oils consist mainly of sesquiterpenes and a small amount of monoterpenes. Caryophyllene and other sesquiterpenes hydrocarbons predominate in the oil from leaves, whereas the stems and roots contain β-bisabolene, trans-nerolidol and unidentified sesquiterpene alcohols as major components. The characteristic pungent earthy aroma of these oils could make them of potential interest to the fragrance industry.

摘要:
The essential leaf oil ofjuniperus martinezii, from the type locality, is dominated by α-pinene, camphor, sabinene, terpinen-4-ol, β-phellandrene, myrcene, linalool, kaur-16-ene, and bornyl acetate. Both morphologically and chemically, it appears to be more closely related toJ. flaccidathan to other Mexican junipers, and hence is recognized as a variety,J. flaccidavar.martinezii(Perez de la Rosa) J. Silba. A distribution map of the 5 known populations is presented.

摘要:
Steam distillation of the leaf of a New England blackbutt,Eucalyptussp. nov. aff.campanulatagave an essential oil rich in E-methyl cinnamate withtrans-β-ocimene as minor component and methyl 2-methyl butyrate, α-pinene,cis-β-ocimene, Z-methyl cinnamate and α, β and γ-eudesmol as trace constitutents. Interpopulational studies showed a 2–6 percent range in oil yield with 94–99% E-methyl cinnamate content. The potential for the commercial development of this species in both plantations and natural stands was assessed.

摘要:
The influence of water stress created by increasing the interval between the last irrigation and harvest, was examined with geranium(Pelargonium graveolensL.) plants. On some of the morphological characters and yield components, water stress had a negative and on others a positive influence. The green yield and essential oil yield decrease as the intervals increase, as does the ratio between citronellol and geraniol in the essential oil.

摘要:
Vitex agnus-castusL. leaf oil, which was obtained by hydrodistillation in very low yield (0.023%), was analysed by gas chromatography and combined gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Thirty-one compounds were identified in the oil (94.8%), of which the major components were 1, 8-cineole (50.9%), sabinene (10.8%), α-pinene (9.0%), terpinen-4-ol (4.8%), p-cymene (4.2%), limonene (2.5%) and α-terpineol (2.3%). Eight sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (2.8%) and four sesquiterpene alcohols (2.4%) were also characterized in the same oil. The oil was found to demonstrate moderate antibacterial activity againstEscherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilisandStaphylococcus aureus.

摘要:
Heptakis (3-0-acetyl-2, 6-di-0-pentyl)-β-cyclodextrin (Lipodex D), and nickel (II)-bis [3-heptafluorobutanoyl-(lR)-camphorate] respectively are proved to be powerful tools to differentiate chiral l-alken-3-yl esters. From commercially available lavender oils l-octen-3-yl acetate and linalyl acetate are directly stereoanalyzed by multidimensional gas chromatography (MDGC) employing heart-cutting techniques from DB-1701 as the pre column onto the chiral main column. Optical purity control of linalyl acetate from some lavender oils is discussed as an indicator of their natural origin.

摘要:
Pre-sowing seed treatment and foliar spray treatments with 10, 25 and 50 mg/L ascorbic acid (AA) were given to the pale variety of Indian dill (Anethum sowa Roxb.). Although AA treatment did not bring any significant change in crop yield, there was a significant increase in the oil yield from the fruit. It was also found that concentrations of limonene, carvone, and cis- and trans-dihydrocarvone were higher in oils from AA treated plants. At the same time, dillapiole, an undesirable component, was found in lower concentrations in these oils. The best quality oil with the highest total carvone/dihydrocarvone content and lowest dillapiole content was realized from plants treated with 50 mg/L AA.

摘要:
The essential oils of eight cultivars of Dalmatian sage(Salvia officinalisL.) from the horticultural trade in North America were compared with the commerical sage oils. Based upon the four principal (” 10%) constituents in previous reports, these cultivars fell into five groups: 1) camphor < α-thujone > 1, 8-cineole > β-thujone (‘Berggarten,’ Icterina'); 2) camphor > α-thujone > β-thujone > 1, 8-cineole (‘Tricolor,’ ‘Woodcote Farm’); 3) β-thujone > camphor > 1, 8-cineole > α-thujone (‘Albiflora’); 4) 1, 8-cineole > camphor > α-thujone > β-thujone (‘Compacta’); and 5) α-thujone > camphor > β-thujone > 1, 8-cineole (‘Purpurascens,’ ‘Rubriflora’). While Dalmatian sage oils vary widely and are composite mixtures, ‘Rubriflora’ is the best overall choice with 5.3% l, 8-cineole, 27.1% α-thujone, 6.2% β-thujone, and 18.5% camphor.
