摘要:
It has been shown that statistically significant higher oil yields could be obtained fromArtemisia afrawhen the plants were harvested during anthesis and early seed set. The chemical composition of four generations of the same clone was found to be very constant. On examination of the oil composition of wild populations ofA. afra, the existence of chemotypes was revealed. Oils rich in 1, 8-cineole (50.14%), α-thujone (74.91–75.28%), β-thujone (21.49–22.44%), and camphor (27.92%) were found.

摘要:
A few Sandalwood odor molecules and very similar odorless compounds have been compared with t-Butyl-bicyclodecan-3-ol, a substance which possesses a Sandalwood-like fragrance, using a new method of molecular shape comparison. Important prerequisites are an exact analysis of all possible conformations of the investigated molecules and the best possible matching of the two geometries in question. Previous results about the shape of such molecules in principle were affirmed and a correlation between volume comparisons and olfaction of the molecules was found.

摘要:
Ten oils (essential and empyreumatic) and extracts from the woods ofJuniperus oxycedrusL. andJuniperus phoeniceaL. were obtained by different methods (steam distillation, solvent extraction, wood pyrolysis, column chromatography, molecular distillation, rectification and extraction of precedent oils and extracts). The different oils and fractions were analyzed by coupled GC/MS; their chemical specificities are compared and discussed for subsequent dermatological applications.

摘要:
BelgianArtemisia albahas formerly been reported to be rich in α-thujone, while micropropagation did not lead to essential oil producing plants. In this study, Belgian plants were found to afford mainly isopinocamphone (34%) and camphor (21%), together with smaller amounts of camphene, β-pinene, 1, 8-cineole, myrtenal, myrtenol and T-cadinol, but no α-thujone. An alternative micropropagation method was developed, by which the plants retained their ability to produce an essential oil similar to that of the mother plants. This ability to produce essential oils was found to be media related. The inclusion of vitamins, macrosalts, sugar and hormones of the medium appeared to be of great importance for oil production.

摘要:
The oil composition of three genotypes ofMentha x verticillatawere analyzed by means of GC/MS. The oil of all genotypes was characterized by high percentages of menthol. Several mono- and sesquiterpenes were also identified and among them limonene, menthone, menthyl acetate, germacrene D and β-caryophyllene were the most abundant.

摘要:
The chemical composition of the essential oil ofDaphne genkwaSieb. et Zucc. from China was investigated by a combination of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques and 121 compounds were identified. The major components of the oil were furfural (2.8%), α-copaene (3.1%), α-santalene (6.9%), β-caryophyllene (3.4%), β-santalene (2.4%), δ-cadinene (4.0%), methyl eugenol (4.6%), nerolidol (2.0%), elemicin (4.5%), and 2, 3-dihydrobenzofuran (2.7%).

摘要:
Although epoxy-n-alkanes can be produced from the corresponding alkene by microorganisms only if they were grown on hydrocarbons, the terminal double bond of acyclic terpenoids can be oxidized by some glucose using strains in high optical yields. While most fungi possess hydrolases which open the epoxides to diols with e.e. of 95–98% we found some microorganisms which did not affect the epoxide. Alcohols like linalool or nerolidol reacted intramolecularly with the oxiran moiety to yield tetrahydrofurans and tetrahydropyrans. The absolute configuration of the epoxide is usually S but depends on the strain for its optical purity. The configuration of the epoxides were independent of the absolute configuation of the substrate.

摘要:
The essential oils of A.katsumadai, obtained by hydrodistillation of the leaves, stems and seeds, were analyzed by GC/MS. The leaf and stem oils were similar in composition, with α-pinene, β-pinene, myrcene, α-phellandrene, 1, 8-cineole, fenchone and geraniol as major constituents. The seed oil had a different composition, with myrcene, linalool, citronellol, geraniol, decanol, citronellyl and geranyl acetates as main components.
