摘要:
The genusLippiaHoust. (Verbenaceae Juss.) consists of nearly 200 species of herbs, shrubs and small trees which are often aromatic. Of these, thirty nine species have had some previous work done on their essential oil compositions. A summary of these studies is presented, in which the composition of each of the oils is listed quantitatively where possible. The component which was found to occur in the highest frequency in dieLippiaoils was limonene. Other components found in these oils, in order of decreasing frequency, were: p-cymene, α-pinene, camphor, β-caryophyllene, linalool and thymol.

摘要:
The simultaneous stereochemical analysis of the main compounds linalool, linalyl acetate, α-terpineol using heptakis-(2,3-di-O-acetyl-6-O-tert.-butyldimethyl-silyl)-β-cyclodextrin as the chiral main column is described. α-Pinene, β-pinene, limonene, terpinen-4-ol and nerolidol are simultaneously stereoanalyzed with heptakis-(2,3-di-0-methyl-6-O-tert.-butyldimethylsilyl)-β-cyclodextrin. Chirality evaluation was proved to be an efficient tool for the authenticity control of neroli and petitgrain oils. Characteristic authenticity profiles of neroli and petitgrain oils are deduced.

摘要:
The variation and composition of essential oils from needles, twigs and cones of Balkan pine(Pinus peuceGrisebach), grown in Greece were investigated. The compounds of twig oil were identified by using GC/MS analysis. The oil was found to be rich in α-pinene (27.59–40.61%), β-pinene (12.04–15.33%) and limonene (10.51-15.79 %). Quantitative differences in the oil components were found between oils produced in the spring and autumn.

摘要:
The volatile oils from the Japanese and North Korean varieties ofAngelica sinensis(Oliv.) Diels, cultivated in Vietnam, were obtained by steam distillation of the fresh leaves and whole flowers. The oils were analyzed by GC and GC/MS and found to contain about 50 compounds. More than 35 constituents have been identified, the major ones being γ-terpinene (59.2% and 44.3% in the Japanese leaf and flower oils; 68.3% and 62.3% in the North Korean oils), and (Z)-ligustilide (11.9% and 33.6%, 6.4% and 13.6%, respectively).

摘要:
Seven diterpenes were isolated from the higher boiling fraction of the essential oil from the aerial parts ofAmmi majusL. (Apiaceae). Their structure proved to base on a novel irregular acyclic hydrocarbon skeleton which is named ammimajane. Structure elucidation was accomplished by spectroscopic methods. Aside from the ammimajanes phytol, isophytol and isoelemicin were also identified.

摘要:
In the course of our comprehensive investigation of the oils of the leaves ofClausena anisatafrom three West African countries, we have observed that, on the basis of its oil constituents,C. anisatacan be classified into three major chemovarieties. Two of these chemovarieties have been observed in collections in Ghana, Togo and Benin. One contains mainly methyl chavicol (80–100%), and between one and ten other constituents, while the other contains a large number of constituents (up to 50), varying in concentration from 0.2% to about 20%. These include limonene, β-phellandrene, β-caryophyllene, α-humulene and germacrene D. However, there is a third collection in Ghana, positively identified asC. anisata, which yields between 85–100% of(E)-anethole as its major essential oil constituent. The chemovariation does not appear to be dependent on seasonal or geographical factors. The plants containing either methyl chavicol or (E)-anethole give very high yields of oil while those with several constituents yield very low quantities of oil. These observations are of considerable chemotaxonomic significance and are also significant in regard to the possible commercial exploitation of the essential oils ofC. anisata.

摘要:
Clonal material from the Australian endemicOlearia phlogopappaLabill. D.C. was grown under field conditions to determine the effects of spacing, canopy shape, harvest frequency and pruning on biomass production and essential oil yield. The greatest yields were achieved with no pruning, 0.8 m spacing, a hedge type canopy and a biannual harvest. In addition, the Nelder fan design was used to determine the effect of a range of planting densities (1.11 to 4.99 plants/m2), on the yield and quality of essential oil. The optimal yield of oil per hectare was obtained at a density of 4-5 plants/m2. This is a direct result of increasing biomass, since there was no significant difference in the oil yield/g dry matter between density treatments. The quality of essential oil, as determined by the percentages of kessane and liguloxide present, did not alter with increasing density. Morphometric parameters were also independent of density.

摘要:
Field experiments were designed to study the influence of irrigation at varying soil matric potentials or IW/CPE (Irrigation Water/Cumulative Pan Evaporation) ratios and N applications on the yield and N uptake by Java citronella(Cymbopogon winterianusJowitt). The results showed that irrigating the crop when soil matric potential reaches -60 kPa or RV/CPE ratio reaches 0.8 resulted in maximum herb and oil yields and N uptake. Citronella responded well to high N applications (400 kg N/ha/year) at -40 kPa soil matric potential.

摘要:
Varying concentrations of eugenol and carvacrol were added to cultures ofCladosporium herbarumto determine their effect on the growth and cell morphology of this common food spoiling mold. Microscopically, significant morphological deformations of the hyphae in relation to their age could be observed. These phenomena were accompanied by macroscopic changes of the colonies in combination with substantial growth inhibitions. Carvacrol possessed a higher antifungal activity than eugenol.
