Abstract.The genusAntillothripsStannard (ElateaFaure, syn.n.) is redefined with a key to the ten species:australissp.n.;exastis(Ananthakrishnan&Kudo) stat.n. comb.n.;cingulatus(Hood) (=Haplothrips (Hindsiana) sakimuraiMoulton syn.n.;Xenothrips opacusAnanthakrishnan&Kudo syn.n.);graminellusAnanthakrishnan&Jagadish;hartwigisp.n.;malabaricus(Ananthakrishnan);micropterusPitkin;nayari(Ananthakrishnan);stannmdi(Faure) comb.n.;varius(Ananthakrishnan&Jagadish). Lectotypes are designated foropacusandexastis.

Abstract.Wing‐reduction among the Coccinellidae occurs in less than 100 species. Wing‐polymorphism inRhyzobius lirura(F.),R.chrysorneloides(Herbst) andSubcoccinella 24‐punctuta(L.) varies throughout the geographical ranges of the species. The incidence of wing‐polymorphism in BritishSubcoccinellahas varied markedly over the last 160 years.
