摘要:
Abstract.Multivariate morphometric analysis (canonical variates) was used to discriminate between closely related taxa within theMyzus persicaegroup. It is demonstrated that dark green, anholocyclic populations with a 2n=13 or 2n=14 karyotype in Europe, hitherto treated as a form or biotype ofM.persicae, all conform to a discrete morphometric grouping and should therefore be treated as a separate taxonomic entity, permanently isolated from theM.persicaegene pool. It is suggested that this taxon was first described asSiphonophora antirrhiniiby Macchiati in 1883. A discriminant function is provided to separate most individual apterae ofantirrhiniifrom those ofpersicae. Myzus icelandicusBlackman sp.n., on Caryophyllaceae and other plants in Iceland, is distinguished fromM.polarisH.R.L. andM.certus(Walker), and a key is given to apterous virginoparae of the species of theM.persicaegroup in Europe.

Abstract. Two species,Kiefferulus barbatitarsis(Kieffer) andK.calligaster(Kieffer) are recognized as new combinations. The juvenile stages were reared in the laboratory. An outline of the biology of each species is given, including a description of the method of construction of the larval tube.

摘要:
Abstract. This paper is the fifth in a series designed to cover taxono‐mically all species‐groups of the lebiine genusAgra, whose cumulative ranges extend from southernmost Texas to northernmost Argentina. Themixta, virgata, feisthameliandohausigroups constitute Section Feisthameli of the genus, and a key to these groups is provided. Themixtagroup consists of two species which have a composite range extending from southeastern Brazil to middle Mexico; thevirgatagroup consists of nine species which have a composite range extending from southeastern Brazil to Guatemala; and theohausigroup consists of four species which have a composite range restricted to southeastern Brazil. Thespeciose feisthameligroup is covered in a separate paper.Among the three groups in the present paper, eleven new species are described from the following type localities:perkinsorum(MEXICO, Nayarit, 17.6 km southwest of Compostela),vate(MEXICO, Veracruz, Los Tuxtlas, La Playa Escondida),nola(REPUBLIC OF PANAMA, Panama, Cerro Campana),cadabra(EQUADOR, Pichincha, 47 km south of Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Rio Palenque Station),chocha(WEST INDIES, Trinidad, Arima Valley),phainops(FRENCH GUIANA, Pariacabo),imaginis(BRAZIL, Goias, Jatahy),inca(PERU, Madre de Dios, Rio Tambopata Reserve, 30 km (air) southwest of Puerto Maldonado),itatiaya(BRAZIL, Rio de Janeiro, Parque Nacional Itatiaya),calamitas(BRAZIL, Bahia, Itamaraju),anthrax(BRAZIL, Espirito Santo, Parque Socretama). A dot map illustrates the range of each taxon.Distribution and relationships are discussed in general, but detailed cladistic and biogeographic analysis is deferred until taxonomy of the four groups of Section Feisthameli is completed. Species distribution correspond to Pleistocene refuges suggested by other authors based on other groups and classes of organi

摘要:
Abstract.Eriopeltis varleyifrom Wytham in Britain is described as new. The adult female and male are described and all stages are illustrated. Keys are provided for the identification of all known species ofEriopeltis, and to the males of the three species known from Britain.E. varleyiis univoltine and apparently specific toBrachypodiumpinnatum(L.) Beauv. Males and females occur in equal proportions, but many more males were produced when populations were reared under very warm dry conditions in the laboratory. The population studied at Wytham was parasitized by a number of species of chalcid wasps and a chamaemyid fly egg predator.

摘要:
Abstract.Morphological and electrophoretic variation is evaluated in 272 female and 424 male specimens ofAphidiusreared from known hosts representing seventeen aphid‐host species. Much of this material was reared under experimental conditions in order to examine the effects of environmental conditions such as temperature and different host species, and to induce as much variation as is possible in known single populations. Multivariate analysis and electrophoresis are used to demonstrate the degree to which entities defined by morphological characters and electrophoretic bands correspond to collection from a common host. Many characters commonly used in the identification of this group, e.g. sculpturing on the propodeum, are shown to be very variable. Despite this, several morphologically and electrophoretically definable groups ofAphidiusare demonstrated, many of them corresponding to individual aphid‐hosts, while others, especially those parasitizing pea and cereal aphids were found to occur on more than one host. The possible nominal species associated with each defined group are discussed and morphological keys given to these complexes, and to the species ofof Aphidiusknown to parasitize pea and cereal aph

Abstract.A cladistic analysis of the Trogidae using eighteen adult characters resulted in a monophyletic group from which the generaGlaresisErichson,AfroglaresisPetrovitz andCryptogeniusWestwood are excluded. The Trogidae as here defined comprises three genera,TroxFabricius (with two subgenera,TroxandPhoberusMacleay),OmorgusErichson (with three subgenera,Omorgus, Afromorgussubg.n.andHaroldomorgussubg.n.)andPolynoncusBurmeister.

摘要:
Abstract.Descriptions are provided of the nymphs of fifteen of the sixteenEupteryxspecies recorded in Britain. An illustrated key to fifth instar nymphs is presented, based upon chaetotaxy and cuticular markings. Illustrations of the external sexual characters in fourth and fifth instars and the external development of the five instars are also provided.

摘要:
Abstract.A new subfamily of Stratiomyidae is proposed forParhadrestiaJames andCretaceogasterTeskey (fossil from Upper Cretaceous Canadian amber). Evidence is delimited that indicates that this subfamily is the sister‐group to all other known stratiomyids. Taxa in the subfamily are systematically described, including a new species,Parhadrestia curico, from Chil
