摘要:
A study on rural houses in the district of Maharashtra (India) reveals that about 85% of people have fenestration areas of less than 80%, with poor daylighting indoors. In spite of large variations in floor area 80.0.% of people were somehow managing with a floor area of 8.0 m2to 12.0 m2. Indoor thermal evaluation was made by an established subjective thermal index, the Tropical Summer Index (TSI). About 70% of occupants were satisfied with a TSI value of less than 30 degrees Celsius.

摘要:
The integration of architectural science and design teaching would be assisted by the development of explicit models of design processes. Such models are needed to make the issues discussable. In the absence of explicit models, the point of application of science in the design process may remain obscure to the student. ‘Compartmentalisation’ may result. There is science, and there is design, and the two never meet in the student's mind or studio practice. This paper will present a teaching model of architecural design processes which can be used to make the issues explicit. The general model will be presented in outline. Those parts of the model which represent the interface between physical science and technology and the other aspects of design knowledge in the design process will be developed in more detail.

摘要:
Within the paradigm of Post-Modernism an ideology derived from the philosophies of Deconstruction (Derrida) and Phenomenology (Hegel) forms the basis for Deconstructive Architecture. These philosophies have engendered a romantic revival of Constructivism (de Stijl). This paper examines some of the implications of both Phenomenology and Deconstructive Architecture for architectural science and technology.
