AbstractA study aimed at avoiding the high‐frequency oscillation phenomenon in the MMIC distributed amplifier is presented. The results obtained are applicable to both the design simulation step and the bias tuning phase on the realized amplifier. 摘要:
AbstractWe describe a fringe shape stabilization scheme for a birefringent fiber ring resonator with power exchange between the birefringent axes. It is shown that this type of resonator provides an easy way of deriving an error signal in order to stabilize the fringe shape. The system uses piezoelectric control of the fiber birefringence along a short portion of the loop, which counteracts environmentally induced changes in the fringe shape. The system is suitable for use in sensing and spectrum analysis applications requiring high accuracy and scale factor stability. © 1994 John Wiley&Sons, Inc

摘要:
AbstractSingly and randomly polarized nickel‐indiffused waveguides in lithium niobate were found when fabricated under different diffusion conditions. The randomly polarized waveguides are verified to have the advantages of no outdiffusion guiding layer and low diffusion temperatures. The linear electro‐optic coefficient was found only slightly decreased when checked using a Mach‐Zehnder interferometer. © 1994 John Wiley&Son

摘要:
AbstractAcousto‐optic deflectors are introduced to be used as star couplers that perform broadcasting and routing in local area networks. Configurations for both single‐wavelength and multiwavelength broadcast‐and‐select networks are proposed. A routing network in which both the input and output ports are wavelength tunable is also shown. Acousto‐optic devices provide these networks with the advantage of low insertion loss, simplicity, and compactness, because one device can handle a large number of ports. Analysis for these networks is presented and computed simulation results are shown. The proposed routing network is not limited to the use of acousto‐optic deflectors, because conventional blazed diffraction gratings can be used. © 1994 John Wil

AbstractA probe‐fed superstrate‐loaded rectangular microstrip antenna mounted on a cylindrical body is investigated by using a full‐wave analysis and a moment‐method calculation. Numerical results for the input impedance are calculated and the numerical convergence of the moment‐method calculation is also shown. Variations of the input impedance with the superstrate thickness and curvature radius are presented and discussed. Both the HE01and HE10modes are studied. © 1994 John Wiley
