Leakage characteristics of the mode are investigated for the various waveguide parameters. 摘要:
AbstractWe describe a monolithic phase shifter which combines the low loss of high‐temperature superconductivity (HTS) with the variable dielectric properties of a ferroelectric material SrTiO3. Phase shifts greater than 28 degrees per wavelength were observed around 30° K. The compatibility of YBa2Cu3O7‐xand other ferroelectric materials is discussed. © 1992 John Wiley&Sons

AbstractDetermination of the material parameters for a general bi‐isotropic medium with a waveguide technique is considered. The bi‐isotropic medium is in general nonreciprocal; the amount of nonreciprocity can be determined by measuring the frequency difference between an empty cavity resonator and a cavity resonator with a small bi‐isotropic sample. The chirality of the medium cannot be determined with such a method. Also, the method based on measuring the propagation factor of a perfectly conducting waveguide with a bi‐isotropic rod gives no information about the chirality parameter. It can, however, be determined by measuring the change of the propagation factor in a corrugated waveguide with and without a bi‐isotropic rod by using two different modes propagating in a corrugated waveguide. © 1992 John Wiley

AbstractThe lines of reasoning on the maximum numbers of independent adjustable parameters, peaks, and valleys in an arbitrarily shaped linear factor are clearly stated and the corresponding characteristics table is also completely constructed in this article. The array factor may be either unsymmetrical or symmetrical, and with arbitrary odd or even number of exciting currents. So far as the author knows, this table appears for the first time in the open literature, and it is believed to be of much help to the designers of equispaced linear antenna arrays when numerically optimizing the differently specified peak and valley levels of the array factor by adjusting the available independent parameters related to the exciting currents in the element antennas. When the formulas tabulated in the array factor characteristics table are used to compare with the synthesized results using the well‐known numerical method for optimizing the synthesis of an arbitrary shaped array factor by Orchard, Elliott, and Stern [1] and Elliott [2], they show exact agreement. © 1992 John Wiley&Sons, I

AbstractA new method is developed to analyze electromagnetic coupling to an angled two‐wire transmission line. It consists of solving the cylindrical transmission line equations analytically, and then adjusting the involved parameters to support the cylindrical TEM mode along its equivalent model of the angled two‐plate transmission line. The validity of the derived solution is assured by showing its convergence to the numerical value obtained by using the circuit concept approach. © 1992 John Wiley&Sons,

AbstractOptical digital pulse position modulation (DPPM) is an effective modulation format for both free space and fiber communications. However, for the latter, system synchronization has not been considered. AbstractThe normalized longitudinal and transverse current distributions of a microstrip line on a ferrite substrate are obtained using the spectral domain approach for vertical magnetization. The dispersive properties of the line [characteristic impedance and effective permeability μeff(f)] are accurately evaluated.
