摘要:
It is proved that the universal group of a torsion free rigid monoid is torsion free. As a consequence, a new condition on a monoid M for the monoid ring R[M] to be a 2-fir is given. Furthermore, the monoids between a rigid monoid and its universal group are studied.

摘要:
A graded standard Gorenstein Artin algebraquotient of the polynomial ring R over k can be viewed as the algebra Af of partial differential operators of all degrees on a form F. The algebra A is unimodal if the Hilbert functionhas a single local maximum. We use the theory of compressed algebras to construct forms F in five or more variables whose Gorenstein algebras Af are not unimodal.

Let A be a commutative ring. The concept of a reduction I of an ideal J of A which was introduced in [6] has been extended recently in many ways to a pair (f,g) of filtrations on A, where f <g. It has given rise to the concept of an f-good (resp. f-fine) filtration in [9] and to that of an integral (resp. a strongly integral) filtration over f in [33 and also to the concept of a reduction of g in [7].
