In this note, we use a universal algebraic argument to show that modules with 0-limits need not be equationally compact, thus providing a counter-example to an open problem of Jensen and Lenzing.

Following the method already developed for studying the actions ofGLq(2,C) on the Clifford algebraC(l,3) and its quantum invariants [1], we study the action onC(l, 3) of the quantumGL2constructed by Dipper and Donkin [2]. We are able of proving that there exits only two non-equivalent cases of actions with nontrivial “perturbation” [1]. The spaces of invariants are trivial in both cases.

The finite dimensional tame hereditary algebras are associated with the extended Dynkin diagrams. An indecomposable module over such an algebra is either preprojective or preinjective or lies in a family of tubes whose tubular type is the corresponding Dynkin diagram. The study of one-point extensions by simple regular modules in such tubes was initiated in [Ri].

LetGbe a finite group. The question of how certain arithmetical conditions on the lengths of the conjugacy classes ofGinfluence the group structure has been studied by several authors. In this paper we study restrictions on the structure of a finite group in which the lengths of conjugacy classes are not divisible byp2for some primep. We generalise and provide simplified proofs for some earlier results.

We study the algebraic behavior of a three dimensional zygotic algebra in the presence of parameters 0 <s< 1 and 0 <g< 1;sfor selfing andgwhich reflects its associated inbreeding depression. We also study the dynamics of the system for which this algebra is a model. Our methods lean towards commutative algebra and algebraic geometry and find support on the computer program Macaulay2.Our results are best understood through the geometry of a rational function of the projective plane.
