Résumé: i1 s'agit d'étudier 1es algèbres de Lie dimensionnellement nilpotentes, en abrégé ADN, c'est à dire celles qui admettent une dérivation nilpotente de corang 1. Quand ces algèbres ne sont pas nilpotentes, Leger et Manley ont montré que ce sont des algèbres résolubles d'idéal maximal nilpotent ousl2. Nous montrons alors qu'il n'y a que quatre types possibles pour l'idéal maximal nilpotent et que la structure de l'idéal maximal nilpotent est presque connue. Dans le cas où ces ADN sont nilpotentes, nous étudions le cas où elles sont 2-nilpotentes. Nous décrivons les constantes de structures sur une base dite adaptée, des ADN 2-nilpotentes d'idéal dérivé de dimension 2, puis nous donnons une classification en dimension inférieure a 8 des ADN 2-nilpotentes dont l'idéal dérivé, égal au centre, est de dimension 2. Les résultats présentés sont tirés de Ia thése de l'auteur ([1]).

The Snake Lemma, fundamental in producing long exact sequences in homology or cohomology theories based on an abelian category, is shown to have a proof formally identical to the familiar one involving abelian groups when the category either has enough projectives or enough injectives.

摘要:

Using a Coxeter transformation of type F4, we will construct quasicrystals of dimension 2 with twelvefold symmetry. Then, such quasicrystals will be realized as subsets of a certain cyclotomic field. And we will study a typical shell structure algebraically. In particular, we can give its mathematical meaning in terms of elementary number theory.

Crawley-Boevey's concept of a character (a notion derived from Schofield's Sylvester rank functions) is extended so that characters with different image sets and classes may be analysed. A method of passing from these generalised characters to theories of modules is given and a converse technique is seen to be possible in certain cases. We consider in depth what happens when the character image is taken to be the ordinals with addition taken to be the Cantor sum. In particular we define a process whereby any Σ-pure-injective module satisfying a reasonable criterion can be assigned a unique ordinal character.

LetRbe a commutative ring andH Rthe ring of Hurwitz series overR. In this note, we consider some properties of rings, which are shared byRandHR. In particular, we show that for the ringsRandH R, if either ring is (i) a Hermite ring, or (ii) a PF-ring in the sense that every finitely generated projectiveR-module is free, then so is another. We also show that ifRis a PS-ring in the sense that the socleSoc(RR) is projective and char(R) = 0, thenH Ris also a PS-ring.
