An integral domainRis said to be a UMT-domain if uppers to zero inR[X) are maximalt-ideals. We show thatRis a UMT-domain if and only if its localizations at maximaltdeals have Prüfer integral closure. We also prove that the UMT-property is preserved upon passage to polynomial rings. Finally, we characterize the UMT-property in certian pullback constructions; as an application, we show that a domain has Prüfer integral closure if and only if all its overrings are UMT-domains.

A quantization of a non-standard rational solution of CYBE forsl2is given explicitly. We obtain the quantization with the help of a twisting of the usual YangianY{sl2). This quantum object (deformed YangianYηξ(sl2)) is a two-parametric deformation of the universal enveloping algebraU(sl2[u]) of the polynomial current algebrasl2[u]. We consider the pseudotriangular structure onYηξ(sl2), the quantum doubleDYηξ(sl2), its the universal R-matrix and also the RTT-realization ofYηξ(sl2).

The higher geometric invariants ∑k(G;Z) and ∑k(G) of [BR] and [Re 1], [Re 2] are examined for groups satisfying certain commutativity relations. The main application computes these invariants for direct products of 1-relator or 3-manifold groups.

A Simplicial derivation procedure for crossed module valued functors is established. As a consequence, a theory of higher Baer invariants and relative homology is settle on crossed modules. Then we illustrative how this method is efficient, as it extends classical formulations and results, like various known five term sequences on crossed modules by Conduché and Ellis (1989), the author (1993) and Ladra and R-Grandjeán (1994).

We investigate when mulitplication by a polynomialf(X) defines a surjective endomorphism on the inverse polynomials moduleM[X-1].
