Over a fieldFof characteristic p = 2, a class of Lie algebrasP(n,m), called non-alternating Hamiltonian algebras, is constructed, wherenis a Positive integer and m=(m1, ⋯,mn) is ann-tuple of positive integers.P(n,m)is a graded and filtered subalgebra of the generalized Jacobson-Witt algebraW(n,m)and bears resemblance to the Lie algebras of Cartan type.P(n,m)is shown to be simple unless m=1 andn< 4. The dimension ofP(n,m)isDifferent from the Lie algebras of Cartan type, allP(n,m)are nonrestrictable. The derivation algebra ofP(n,m)is determined, and the natural filtration ofP(n,m)is proved to be invariant. It is then determined thatP(n,m)is a new class of simple Lie algebras if (n,m) satisfies some condition.

We give necessary conditions for a map to be irreducible (in the category of finitely generated, torsion free modules) over a non-local, commutative ring and sufficient conditions when the ring is Bass. In particular, we show that an irreducible map of ZG, where G is a square free abelian group, must be a monomorphism with a simple cokernel. We also show that local endomorphism rings are necessary and sufficient for the existence of almost split sequences over a commutative Bass ring and we explicitly describe the modules and the maps in those sequences. The results in this paper enable us to describe the Auslander-Reiten quiver of a non-local Bass ring in [8].

In this paper, we analyze the Auslander-Reiten quiver for the category fo lattices over a commutative, non-local, Bass ring. Our applications include explicitly describing the quiver, proving path connectedness and Eulerian features of the quiver, associating the quiver to a Cayley diagram, proving a finite type result with the quiver and generalizing the concept of unique factorization domainto the notion of unique map factorization domain.
