An n-ary word w(x1,…,xn) is called n-symmetric for a group G if w(g1,…,gn) = w(gσ1,…,gσn) for all g1,…,gnin G and all permu¬tations a in the symmetric group Sn. In this note we describe 2 and 3-symmetric words in free metabelian groups and metabelian groups of nilpotency class c, for arbitrary c.

In this text, we introduce and study involutive class groups and Brauer groups of a Krull domain R. We derive some exact sequences, connecting these groups and linking them to classical invariants, thus allowing to calculate them in concrete situations. We provide a geometric interpretation in terms of etale cohomology with respect to the sheaf of square roots of unity on Spec(R), as another useful tool to calculate these invariants.

Let R denote a right principally injective ring. In this note we show that if R is right duo then R is right finite dimensional if and only if R has a finite number of maximal left ideals. This extends and answers an open question of Camillo. If, instead, every simple right module can be embedded in R, we show that R is left finite dimensional if it has a finite number of maximal right ideals.
