Socle-projective categories seem to be a link between the representation theory of modules over finite dimensional algebras or artin algebras and other topics in representation theory: The the category of lattices over generalised) ackstrom orders can be described in terms of the category of socle-projective modules over a hereditary algebra, see for example the survey paper [16]. If S is a finite poset, the category of S-spaces of the poset S is nothing else than the category of socle-projective modules of the incidence algebra k(S*) of the enlarged poset S U {w}, see [18, 5.11.]

Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand showed that the derived category of coherent sheaves on the projective n-space Db(cohPn) is equivalent to the stable ategory of the category of Z-graded finite-dimensional modules over the exterior algebra. At the same time Beilinson gave a description of Db(cohPn) which can be interpreted in terms of tilting theory. We compare these two characterizations using Happel's description of the derived category of modules over a finite-dimensional algebra of fnite global dimension.

An equiprime near-ring is a generalization of prime ring. Firstly some axioma-tics concerning equiprime near-rings are discussed, e.g. their relation to the other notions of primeness for near-rings, primitive near-rings and near-fields. Secondly we investigate the equiprimeness of some well-known examples of near-rings.
