摘要:
AbstractPyrogallolsulfonephthalein (abbreviated to PR) and its thorium chelate was spectrophotometrically studied in perchloric acid and perchlorate solution at variouspH's. PR shows an absorption maximum at 478 mμ. atpH 3.0, which in the presence of thorium (IV) ion shifts to 544 mμ. The optimumpH for the formation of the chelate was found to be 2.7 to 3.2 and the mole ratio of Th(IV) to PR was 1:1. The instability constant was found to be 1.40×10−16at ionic strength, μ

AbstractA rapid method for the determination of thoria content in Taiwan monazite sand and its associated minerals, zircon, and ilmenite, is presented. The method is gamma scintillation spectrometric, taking the area under the composite photopeak of Ra‐224 (0.241Mev) and Pb‐212 (0.239Mev) as a measure of the thoria content. AbstractIn order to investigate the feasibility of producing enriched Co‐69 activity by Szilard‐Chalmers process, the complexes tris‐[1‐nitroso‐2‐naphthol] Co(III) (A), tris‐ethylenediamine Co(III) chloride (B) and potassium cobalticyanide (C) have been prepared and used for investigation. The percentage activity yield and enrichment factor for each complex have been estimated.
