摘要:
AbstractVarious types of sulfides are chemoselectively oxidized to the corresponding sulfoxides by treatment of Al(NO3)3.9H2O, silica sulfuric acid and a catalytic amount of NaBr in the presence of wet SiO2(50%w/w) in CH2Cl2at room temperature. The catalytic oxidation procedure is very simple and the products are easily isolated in good yields.

AbstractTH‐11, a bacterial strain with strong depolymerase activity that breaks down aliphatic esters such as poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) and poly(ethylene succinate) (PES) was isolated from a soil sample collected from the sediment of Tou‐Chain River, Taiwan, R.O.C. It was phenotypically and genetically characterized to be aStreptomycesstrain. The degradation of PHB and PES were tested both using emulsified polymers in solid agar and thin polymer films in liquid culture media. The degradations were measured by clear‐zone formation on solid agar plates, or direct weight measurements and electromicroscope inspection of the incubated polymer films in the liquid culture. AbstractThe authors developed a simple solvothermal route to synthesis of PbS nanocrystals in the mild binary mixed solvent made of diethylenetriamine (DETA) and water. Two kinds of PbS nanostructures (dice‐like and cubic) have been successfully synthesized in the binary mixed solvothermal system at 150 °C by changing the sulfur source. The products were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The results show that the as‐prepared dice‐like PbS crystals have a hole on each of their faces. To elucidate the relationship between reaction systems and the morphologies of the final products, the authors also investigated the crystal growth by using different sulfur source. AbstractA novel two‐component peak quantitative spectra deconvolution model is employed to elucidate the relationship between the plasmonic properties and the concentration‐dependent Au nanocrystals nucleation. The reactions with the initial concentration of starting reagent NaAuCl4from 0.75 mM to 0.1 mM are monitored. The peak area variation between component peak (b), large size nanoparticles (d ≥ 8.1 nm), and component peak (a), small size nanoparticles (d ≤ 8.0 nm), demonstrates that the initial concentration of NaAuCl4plays a decisive factor to determine the (b/a) ratio, i.e. the growth progresses of Au nanoparticles. If the initial concentration of NaAuCl4is higher than 0.2 mM, two independent growth progresses of Au nanoparticles are observed, and a continuous λmaxblue‐shift of surface plasmon absorption peak accompanied with the second growth progress is measured. On the other hand, in the reactions with the initial concentration of NaAuCl4lower than 0.2 mM, only one crystal growth progress of Au nanoparticles is shown, and the blue‐shift phenomenon of absorption peak induced by the second crystal growth progress no l

摘要:
AbstractThis study investigated the feasibility ofFusarium solanibiomass as a biosorbent for Cu(II) and Pb(II) removal from aqueous solutions. Batch sorption experiments were carried out for Cu(II) and Pb(II) to quantify the sorption kinetics, pH, biosorbent dose and pretreatment ofF. solanibiomass. Biomass metal uptake clearly competed with protons present in the aqueous medium, making pH an important variable in the process. The maximum biosorption byF. solanibiomass was obtained with solutions having pH 5 for both metal ions. An enhanced Cu(II) removal (96.53%) was observed for aluminum hydroxide pretreated biomass. Maximum Pb(II) removal (95.48%) was observed with native biomass. Time dependence experiments for the metal ions uptake showed that adsorption equilibrium reached almost 240 min after metal addition. The kinetic studies showed that the biosorption process followed the pseudo second‐order rate model for Cu(II) and Pb(II). The equilibrium data fitted well to the Langmiur isotherm mode
