摘要:
AbstractThe acid dissociation constants of substituted 8‐hydroxyquinolines and the stability constants of their chelates with Co(II), Ni(II), Cd(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) have been determined. The Calvin‐Bjerrum potentiometric titration technique was used in studying the behavior of these substan

摘要:
AbstractCarrier‐free sodium‐24 was prepared by bombardment of magnesium carbonate and aluminum foil with fast neutrons produced by the Tsing Hua Open Pool Reactor. The induced nuclear reactions were24Mg (n,p)24Na and27AI (n,α24Na respectively. The separation of the isotope was carried out by leaching, precipitation, solvent extraction and ion exchange. For each separation method used, the chemical yield and decontamination factor were determined and compared. It was found that ion exchange column operation was the most satisfactory method among

摘要:
AbstractThe extraction of itaconic acid from fermentation liquor by ion exchange method has been realized. Best results were obtained by first passing the fermentation liquor (diluted 3 times by water) through a column of cation exchange resin, Amberlite IR‐120, then through a column of strong basic anion exchange resin, Amberlite ira‐401, and eluting the itaconic acid out by 3NNaOH. The elution was complete when the volume of elutriant reached one‐half of the volume of the influent, in so far as the part already adsorbed on the resin is concerned. This brought the concentration of itaconic acid to two fold in a single run, and resulted in the decolorization at the same time.It was found that Amberlite IR‐45 (OH) can also be used to extract the acid 100% complete, but the column used should be twice as long, and the volume of the 3NNaOH elutriant should be increased three times. On account of the complicated nature of the molasses, the adsorption of the acid on the resins was only 57–66%complete. The improvement of the extraction by using methods such as selective coprecipitation prior to the extraction is

摘要:
AbstractThe stereospecific polymerization of propylene with Natta catalyst under ordinary pressure has been investigated and discussed. Propylene of 99.5% purity was polymerized with a metal‐organic complex catalyst, formed from A1(C2h5)3and TiCl3, giving a white or greyish stereopolymer which contained ca. 70% isotactic polypropylene. The optimum conditions of polymerization were as follows: The mole‐ratio of Al(C2H3/TiCl3was 8–15; the polymerization‐temperature was 70°C, and the concentration of TiCl3was 0.6–0.8gper 120mlof n‐heptane. The maximum polymerization rate reached the value of 6gC3H6/hr./gTiCl3and the apparent activation energy as calculated from an Arrheniusplotting line, was 1
