AbstractThe aggregation phenomena of simple alcohols caused by hydrogen bonding in several organic solvents are studied by I. R. spectroscopy. The association constants of cyclic dimer of alcohols in CCI4are evaluated, and the importance of solvent bascity effecting on the OH band frequency shift has been discussed.

摘要:
AbstractEmphasis is placed upon selecting working fluid in the drinking bird heat engine. The power output is correlated with thermal efficiency, temperature gradient and heat transfer coefficient. Experimental results are illustrated by our theoretical approaches. We find that thermal efficiency will he largely improved if energy loss due to reheating is eliminated. Method of avoiding reheating and choice of connector height are also discussed. The selection of working fluid mainly depends upon temperature difference. Our theoretical development and experimental results are very useful in constructing a real engine.

摘要:
AbstractCobalt (II) and copper (II) chelates of 2‐picolylamine have been studied spectrophotometrically in aqueous solution. Formation of 2‐picolylamine chelates waspH dependent, and the optimumpH range of the cobalt (II) chelate was atpH 8.8‐9.6, and copper(II) chelate at 4.7‐6.8, respectively. Themoleratio of 2‐picolylamine to both of metal(II) ions was found to be 2 to 1 stoichiometry. The spectrophotometric sensitivities are 0.23γ of Co/Cm2and 8.9γ of Cu/Cm3, at 373mμ,pH 9.0 for Co(II) chelate and 588mμ,pH 6.0 for Cu (II) chelate. The stability constants (logK) of the chelates CoL22+and CuL22+have been evaluated at a constant ionic strength of 0.10 at 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40°C. 摘要:
AbstractA simple quantitative method is developed for the determination of trace amount of chloride in uranium without preliminary separation. The reactions are realized by mixing the sample with saturated mercury thiocyanate alcohol solution and 0.325Mferric ion in 5.52Mperchloric acid solution. The wavelength 465mμ is used for the determination of chloride. The interference of uranium is negligible for uranium concentration less than 400ppm. When uranium concentration ranges from 400 to 1.2×104ppm, the interference can be calculated based on the constancy of molar absorptivity of uranium solution at wavelengthes 465mμ and 415mμ, therefore, a correction can be made for the determination of chloride. The reaction of indole with propiolic acid methyl ester gave a 2 : 1 adduct (II). Hydrolysis of adduct II yield the corresponding carboxylic acid (IV). Decarboxylation of IV also gave I. 摘要:
AbstractThe reaction of excess dimethyl sulfoxide with ethyl bromoacetate has been shown to produce ethyl glyoxylate, hydrogen bromide, and dimethyl sulfide. The yield of glyoxylate at first was reduced because the dimethyl sulfide reacted with bromoacetate to form trimethylsulfonium bromide and ethyl (methylmercapto) acetate, presumably via carbethoxymethyldimethylsulfonium bromide. These side reactions were diminished in a thin‐film reactor, but the result was not satisfiable, the yield was 51%, and the side reactions were prevented by addition of methyl bromide, which rapidly consumed the dimethyl sulfide with formation of trimethylsulfonium bromide. Addition of 1, 2‐epoxy‐3‐phenoxypropane removed the hydrogen bromide, thereby preventing the deleterious effects casued by its reduction of dimethyl sulfoxide to dimethyl sulfide. AbstractGamma‐ray induced gaseous phasein situpolymerization of vinyl chloride and copolymerization of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate in bagasse have been investigated and discussed. The prepared bagasse‐plastic combinations were not improved of its mechanical strength owing to the deposited PVC powder and the low copolymer loading in bagasse‐board.
