摘要:
AbstractThe chelate compound of germanium with gallein was spectrophotometrically studied in 0.18% dioxane solution. It was found that germanium and gallein formed a stable soluble complex in an acetate buffer ofpH 5∼6. The ratio of germanium to gallein was estimated to be 1:2 by Job's continuous variations method. 摘要:
AbstractGe(II)‐perchlorate was prepared in perchloric acid solution. Two polarographic waves were observed in HClO4at various H3O+ion concentrations at 25°C. The cathode wave with E1/2=—0.34 voltvs. S. C. E. is ascribed to the reduction, Ge+++2e=Ge. The value ofia/Cm2/3/1/6is 3.3 at 25°C. The reaction rate for the oxidation of Ge(II) to Ge(IV) in perchloric acid solution was found to be of first‐order with respect to [Ge(II)] in the H3O+ion concentration range

摘要:
AbstractRadioactive minerals other than Hokutolite and monazite are unknown up to present in Taiwan. The hard green copperiferrous quartz found in north Taitung and collected by two field survey teams, exhibited measurable activity, the origin of which was found to be uranium. Activation analysis revealed that the content of uranium in these samples ranged between 0.002 and 0.035%. It was also found that uranium was accompanied with copper, and that inclusion of iron in the sample decreased the uranium content. The result will be of value in the understanding of the cause of concentration of uranium in quartz and its physical and chemical state in these samples. The content of uranium in talc and monazite concentrate was also determined.

摘要:
AbstractThe method of Winchester(2)for the determination of potassium by nondestructive activation analysis has been applied to the determination of soil potassium. The experiments with seven soil samples of known potassium content gave good results. However, large discrepencies that existed between the nondestructive method and the flame photometry were shown by another set of twelve samples to be due to the statistical error in the activity measurements.
