AbstractThe uranyl chelate of ferron was investigated polarographically over thepH range 1.98–10.00 and ligand concentration 0.005–0.060.M. A reversible and diffusion controlled reduction wave was obtained, however, when ferron concentration below 0.02MandpH below 5.0, it became irreversible. The chelate species identified were UO2(HA)2atpH range 2.5–7.1 and UO2(OH) (A)2−3overpH 7.1. AbstractThe reactions of oxybis(diacetoxyborane) with the aldimines,N‐(2‐hydroxyethyl) salicylaldimineN‐(2‐hydroxy‐1‐propyl) salicylaldimine,N‐(3‐hydroxy‐1‐propyl) salicylaldimine,N‐(o‐hydroxyphenyl) salicylaldimine.N‐(m‐hydroxyphenyl) salicylaldimine,N(2‐hydroxyethyl)‐2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthaldimine andN(2‐hydroxy‐1‐propyl) 2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthaldimine have been carried out in 1: 1 and 1: 2 molar ratios. All the compounds except those derived fromN‐(3‐hydroxy‐1‐propyl) salicylaldimine have been found to be sparingly soluble in benzene and nonelectrolytes in anhydrous DMF.
