AbstractThe isomerization ofcis‐Pt(PPh3)2(I)(CH2P(O)(OCH3)2),1, was studied by an NMR technique. An Arrhenius plot for the isomerization gives an activation energy of 99.2KJ/mol, ΔH≠= 97KJ/moland ΔS≠= −8.3J/mol‐K.Under a CO atmosphere thecisisomer catalytically isomerized to itstransform. Free PPh3did not catalyze thecis‐transisomerization. In the proposed isomerization mechanism the reaction goes through an intramolecular assisted phosphine dissociation, followed by dimer formation. AbstractA new scheme to account for the special nodal structure of the orbitals for Rydberg states is proposed. The scheme shows that in order to compute higher Rydberg states a new formula for choosing Gaussian exponentials is needed.

AbstractThe electron spin resonance spectra of various acid‐doped polyanilines were studied. There are three significant changes in the ESR spectra upon acid‐doping as the acid concentration of the doping solution is varied frompH1: (1) The linewidth decreases by a factor of three. (2) The intensity increases. (3) The spin density increases by a factor of twenty. AbstractA new rapid and accurate method for the spectrophotometric microdetermination of Cu(II) and Pd(II) using some 1,3,5‐triphenylformazans (I) is given. The optimum conditions for the formation of the complexes are extensively investigated. The ligands form 1:1 and 1:2 (M:L) complexes with Cu and Pd ions, Beer's law is obeyed up to 3.8 and 6.5ppmCu and Pd respectively. The influence of foreign ions is investigated.
