摘要:
AbstractVinyl monomers such as vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, methyl methacrylate and styrene etc., can be polymerized without catalyst into the composites of bagasse material by gamma‐radiation inducedin situliquid polymerization process. The fundamental factors, such as polymerization‐rate, effect of swelling agent, molecular weight of vinyl polymers and graft reaction between bagasse cellulose and vinyl polymers, have been investigated and discussed. The use of suitable low G‐value polar swelling agents and the application of suitable gamma dose‐rate are two key factors found to control the smoothin situliquid polymerization system of vinyl monomers in

摘要:
AbstractAcetoacetanilide, benzoylacetanilide and their derivatives have been examined in ultraviolet region in a series of solvents covering a broad polarity rangee. e. from chloroform (Z, 63.2) to methanol (Z.83.6). Transition energies and oscillator strengths have been calculated and transition energy (ET) has been plotted againstZ‐values, a new empirical measurement of solvent polarity. A linear relationship was observed between the transition energy andZ‐values for π → π* andn→ π* transitions. These transitions are identified as charge transfer (c‐t) transitions and with the solvents having carbonyl oxygen and sulphur atom ac‐tcomplex formation has been suggested. Strong electron‐donating substituents on phenyl group of the nitrogen atom also showed a weak to moderaten→ π* transitions. These substituents have no influence on the position of the λmaxin the same solvent. Stabilization energy of the excited state of these ligands and hence the dipole moments of the excited states have been calculated in comparison with pyridinium iodide. Abstract(−)‐Dimethyl 2‐cyano‐2‐methylsuccinate ((−)‐IIIa) was synthesized from menthyl cyanoacetate ((−)‐I), and the absolute configuration of which was elucidated as (S)‐configuration by chemical correlation to the known (R)(+)‐β‐methylterbic acid ((R)(+)‐VII).
