摘要:
The use of multispectral scanning data, received from the Landsat-2 satellite, for certain estuarine and coastal studies is described and this is followed by a brief description of the DIBIAS interactive digital image-processing system, which was developed at the German Aerospace Establishment at OberpfafFenhofen. Several examples of Landsat-2 images of the Tay Estuary and its environs are presented as false-colour composites and monochrome pictures. A qualitative interpretation is presented and several quantitative interpretations have also been made.

摘要:
Remote sensor data with spatial resolutions corresponding to 0-5-10m IFOV are required to define adequately the high frequency detail which characterizes the urban scene. Effective analyses of the small parcels, compact structures and narrow street patterns typical of Asian environments will necessitate data of much higher resolution than are required for Western countries. Consequently it is unlikely that satellite image data expected for the 1980s will replace aerial photographs as a primary source of information about urban areas.

The potential for using data collected in the first four bands of the proposed thematic mapper for monitoring intertidal salt marsh vegetation is assessed, using ground spectral data collected with a portable multiband radiometer. Results from a field study in Chichester Harbour, Southern England, show that certain species can be separated using transformations of these data. The estimation of above ground biomass from ground spectral data was not possible forSpartina × townsendii agg., due to the combined effects of mixtures of different substrate types and mixtures of live and dead vegetation within the field of view of the radiometer. However, biomass estimation was possible for bothZostera marina L. andFucus vesiculosus L. The relationships between biomass and bidirectional reflectance for these species followed a similar pattern, despiteFucus vesiculosushaving carotenoids rather than chlorophylls as the dominant leaf pigments.

摘要:
In this paper, maximum likelihood clustering for the decomposition of mixture density of data into its normal component densities is considered. Optimal dependent feature trees for approximating the densities can be constructed using criteria of mutual information and distance measures. By defining different types of nodes in a general dependent feature tree, maximum likelihood equations are developed for the estimation of parameters of mixture density using fixed-point iterations. Furthermore, the field structure of the data is also taken into account in developing maximum likelihood equations.

摘要:
Over the past 5 years, a system for the automated analysis of multi-spectral remote sensing data has been developed by the Centre d'Etudes Techniques de l'Equipement (C.E.T.E.) for use on digital data derived from aerial photographs. This system has been used to date to study the dispersion of effluents in the sea by means of their colour or using a fluorescent tracer, rhodamine B. Accurate photometric techniques are utilized and the originality of the method lies in the way the spatial quantification of the amount of pollutant (or rhodamine) is achieved. Two actual applications are used to illustrate the method. Automated processing is now carried out at the Laboratoire d'Astronomie Spatiale, Marseille (L.A.S.).
