ABSTRACT:A 47‐year‐old Japanese man suffering from T‐cell leukemia was examined for multiple subcutaneous abscesses followed to abrasion wound on his right knee. The causative organism was clustered, fine‐branched filaments in pus aspirated from the lesions, identified as Nocardia brasiliensis. ABSTRACT:Pustules from 92 new cases of pustular acne and gram‐negative folliculitis were cultured in aerobic medium for superimposed bacterial infection. During the treatment of 1,561 new patients with papular acne with tetracycline and topical clindamycin and antibacterial soaps, an additional 10 developed pustules. 摘要:
ABSTRACT:A dominant inheritance leading to development of nevoid basal cell epitheliomas on the face and follicular atrophoderma on the extremities constitute the two constant manifestations of Bazex syndrome. A patient with both manifestations on the trunk who fulfilled all the criteria for a diagnosis of nevoid basal cell epitheliomas is described. Histopathology of the basal cell cancer corresponded to that of the fibroepithelial tumor, thus differing from the more common nodular and trichoepitheliomatous presentations. Difficulty in associating the atrophoderma with a hair follicle (histologically) arises because the latter ceases to exist as a functional unit.

ABSTRACT:Of 12 patients with adult dermatomyositis studied, 5 (41%) had associated malignancies, of which 3 were nasopharyngeal carcinomas. The youngest was a 23‐year‐old woman. In view of the high incidence of cancer and the predominance of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, malignacy evaluation in Chinese patients from the Far East, 20 years of age or older with dermatomyositis should have extended workups for postnasal cancer.
