摘要:
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the influence of individual explanatory factors, such is sex, age, atopy, test time and presence of diseased skin, on clinical patch lest results, by application of multivariate statistical analysis. The study population was 2l66 consecutive patients patch tested with the standard series of the International Contact Dermatitis Research Group (ICDRG) by members of the Danish Contact Dermatitis Group (DCDG) over a period of ft months. Fur the 8 test allergens most often found positive (nickel, fragrance‐mix, cobalt, chromate. balsam of Peru, carba‐mix, colophony, and formaldehyde). one or more individual factors were of significance for the risk of being sensitized, except for chromate and formaldehyde it is concluded that patch test results can be compared only after stratification of the material or by multivariate analy

摘要:
The observation of Photocontact dermatitis fromHeracleum matantegazzianionSommier et Levier in 2 gardeners at work prompted the analysisi of furocoumarin content of stem. Leaves and fruits of the plant during a period of I year. Their concentration was found to be maximal in fruit, intermediate in leaf, and minimal in stem. Psoralen was the most prevalent substance in the leaf and bergapten in the fruit in the stem, in contrast, individual furocoumarins were found in lower bu t variable concentrations. 3 furocoumarin seasonal peaks were observed in the leaf: the maximal peak occurred in June, the intermediate in August, the minimal in November. 摘要:
The influence of “accelerants” on the percutaneous absorption of 3 organic solvents (butanol. toluene. 1,1,1‐trichloroelhane) was investigated in the guinea pig. DMSO in binary and ternary mixtures with various concentrations, the result of adding O.I M C18 fatty acids, and of pretreatment with DMSO and olive oil. were studied. Addition of DMSO (binary solutions) resulted in increased or decreased absorption of the solvents rotated to their water solubility There was reduced absorption of toluene and trichloroethane in binary mixtures with DMSO. while DMSO in binary mixture with butanol gave a marked increase, with concentrations of 50 and 75%. Pretreatment with DM SO resulted in a decrease in the absorption of toluene and a marked increase in the absorption of butanol. The same tendency was seen when skin was pretreated with olive oil under occlusion. The results indicate that the effect of DMSO is related to the water solubility of the pene

摘要:
Sensitization by para‐tertiary‐butylphenolformaldehyde resin (PTBP‐FR). which is particularly useful as a leather glue, has been known fur 30 years. We retrospectively studied the clinical aspects, of those patients with a PTBP‐FR allergy among 1966 patients in whom contact dermatitis was confirmed by patch testing. A positive patch test to PTBP‐FR was. present in 30 patients (1.5%). 24 of whom were women, fixposure to PTBP‐FR as a cause of the dermatitis was “certain” in 7 “very likely” in 6 and “unclear” in 17. 677% of the patients had a multiple allergy. In 43.3% of the patients, a history of atopy was found. No Clear association of PTBP‐ER sensitization with allergies to phenolformaldehyde resin (P‐FR) or free para‐tertiary‐butylphenol (PTBP) EMERGED IN THIS GROUP OF 30 PATIENTS. This study supports the hypothesis that PTBP‐FR do not contain the same sensitizers. 摘要:
A carpet factory worker, exposed to a number of different dyes, developed a Severe hand dermatitis. The handling of warm, wet and freshly‐dyed yarn with unprotected hand was thought to have caused the onset of dermatitis Patch testing indicated that the patient was sensitive to only one of the dyes handled, namely Synacril Red 3B liquid, which is based on the single dyestuff Basic Red 22 (CI 11055). Chemical analysis revealed the dyestuff to be of high purity (>95%). suggesting that sensitization was caused by the Basic Red 22 dyestuff itself and not by an avoidable impurit

By questionnaire survey, 32 out of 52 workers (61.5%) reported previous or current skin diseases from okra cultivation. The sites of skin lesions were mainly the‐ arms, lingers and fingertips. 摘要:
Oil‐based mud, a complex mixture containing amines in emulsifiers, is used in offshore drilling operations. It is a skin irritant that occasionally gives rise to allergic contact sensitivity. In patch testing patients with allergy to drilling mud, we have identified polyamine (diethylentriamine and triethylentetramine) sensitivity in patients. All 5 patients were also allergic to emulsifiers. These emulsifiers are cross‐linked fatty acid amido‐amines, in which unreacted aimine groups are thought to cross‐sensitized with these constitutent polyamines. Occlusion often, but not always, enhances percutaneous absorption and thus may facilitate skin irritation. Quantitative data about the impact occlusivity may have on minimal irritant stimuli to which the skin is exposed in daily life, and which may lead to chronic irritant contact dermatitis, are however lacking. Irritant stimuli were administered by repeated application of sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS) in an open Application procedure. After the open exposure, the skin was either left open or occluded with plastic. Skin irritancy was assessed by means of visual grading and by transepidermal water loss (TEWL) measurements. Post‐exposure occlusive treatment markedly enhanced the irritant response. 5 consecutive daily applications produced more irritation, with or without occlusion, than alternate day application.
