摘要:
A case of subacute parathion poisoning with an erysieloid‐like eruption of the left index finger is reported. Laboratory investigations showed no growth of pathogenic bacteria and cholinesterase activity in the blood showed a rise 10 days after the poisoning. Further blood investigations 6 weeks later showed subnormal levels of cholinesterase activity indicating chronic parathion poisonin

摘要:
Four commercially available corticosteroid preparations were assayed for their capacity to suppress patch test reactions with contact allergens (nickel sulfate, nitrofuralum, potassium dichromate, epoxy resin, wood tars and Maneb) in sensitized individuals (n=14). Beta‐methasone valerate, betamethasone dipropionate, hydrocortisone‐17‐buty rate and triamcinolone acetonide (0.05–0.7% solutions in isopropanol or ethanol) were applied under occlusion in amounts of 0.01, 0.02 and 0.04 ml, respectively. Hatch tests were performed on the pretreated skin sites. The patches were removed 24 h after application and the reactions were read 15 min and 24 h later. The intensity of the reactions and the size of the infiltrated areas of the pretreated sites were measured and compared with those of a control patch test.Topical application of corticosteroids was found to have a suppressive effect both on the intensity as well as on the size of the epicutaneous reactions. No marked difference in the suppression effect of the four corticosteroids could be o

摘要:
Patch tests with a cream (Calmuril®) containing 10% urea were performed on 79 patients with eczematous skin disease; seven (9.9%) had positive tests. Patch tests with the in‐gradients of the cream were negative. It is suggested, that the positive patch test reactions are toxic, due to hypertonicity and acidity of the cre

摘要:
A comparison of the Al‐test and the chamber test was made by performing epicutaneous tests simultaneously with both methods in symmetrical sites on the upper back. Irritant reactions were provoked with 1.5% benzalkonium chloride on 90 patients. Allergic reactions were studied with 10 allergens on 510 patients: 243 of them gave positive reactions to one or more of the test substances. It was found that the results obtained by these methods were about the same when the Al‐test was fixed with nonporous occlusive plaster (Leukoplast). By fixing the Al‐test units like the chambers with a porous tape (Scanpor), the chamber test produced more irritant and allergic reactions than the A1

摘要:
Propylene glycol (PG) 20% in water was tested in a group of 400 subjects with eczematous contact dermatitis. In six inpatients (1.5%) reactions were recorded as considered positive according to the Following criteria: 1. the relevant history of prolonged contact with PC‐containing topical pharmaceutical and cosmetic preparations; 2. the reaction extended in time outside the area of application of the test substance, and persisted locally for several days; 3. a similar reaction was obtained on repetition of the lest with a lower concentration of PG; 4. the prompt improvement in clinical manifestations of eczema on withdrawal of PG‐containing topical preparations. With the PG concentration employed no irritant reactions were obser

摘要:
A 21‐year‐old man was in brief accidental skin contact with epoxy resin stripper containing 10% phenol. He developed a painful, superficial necrotic eruption which slowly extended proximally without any further contact with the chemical, leaving skip areas of normal skin. About 3 and 7 months later he reported spontaneous flares within the area of original contact. Gradual release from an initially formed phenol‐protein complex is thought to be responsible for the progression beyond the contact area and the delayed rea

摘要:
An employee developed unusual linear bullae and dermatitis of the forearms while formulating UV curable resins for a sanitary napkin adhesive. Patch tests to work contactants showed sensitivity to tetraethylene glycol diacrylate only. The remainder of the reactions were irritant, Resin contamination of a “rest‐bar” against which the employee leaned with his forearms contributed to the artifactual appearance of his le

摘要:
Six cases of contact dermatitis from a lip salve are described. Five were allergic to phenyl salicylate and one to geraniol in the fragrance. The dermatitis spread in a ring around the mouth. Phenyl salicylate has been removed from the formulation.
