摘要:
AbstractWavelength‐dispersive X‐RAY SPECTROMETRY can be used to great advantage for the rapid monitoring of the composition of tin‐lead solders. However, account must be taken of some metallurgical properties that influence the X‐ray analysis, viz. the development of concentration gradients during solidification and the process of ageing that sets in at room temperature. Only after these problems have been controlled can a reliable analytical procedure be set up. Standards can be prepared with common facilities and matrix effects are dealt with by simple correction

AbstractOil was chosen as a new sampl type for total reflection XRF. A thin‐film sample procedure is described which requires minimal sample preparation. This involves first bringing the oil into solution with a volatile solvent, then pipetting microliter amounts on to the reflector substrate followed by evaporation of the solvent. The linear dynamic range was found to extend to at least 5000 ppm. Detection limit measurements show that minute sample quantities are necessary for optimal detection limits of nanogram amounts. A maximum sample loading is required for the best detection limits in ppm. Using an Mo or Cu X‐ray tube, limits were found to be a few ppm or sub‐nanogram amounts. AbstractFor the determination of the lead, zinc and iron contents of bore‐hole samples from the Rampura‐Agucha lead‐zinc deposit, X‐ray fluorescence spectrometry has been used. The concentration range of the metals, present in the ore body as galena, sphalerite, pyrite and pyrrohotite, is very wide: for Zn 0—30%, for Pb 0—10% and for Fe 1—16%. An internal standard method and a concentration based correction equation have been used to solve the effect of matrix variations, which is the major problem in the development of the programme.Copper added as copper sulphate, which also acts as a good binder, was used as an internal standard for zinc. For Pb Lα1an adjacent Rayleigh diffraction line, Au Lβ1, was used as an internal standard and partially compensates for the matrix effect. The residual correction is made by the use of a mathematical model. For iron, only a mathematical correction is made. There is good agreement between the XRF and wet chemical analysis results for zinc and lead. For iron, the absolute differences are larger, but the correlation coefficient is good for average analy
