摘要:
A complete mass spectral fragmentation pattern of naturally abundant pentagermane is presented together with the parent mass spectrum of hexagermane. The mass spectrum of pentagermane shows a fragmentation pattern of the five different types of ions with the following relative order of intensities: M3> M4> M2> M5> M1. The base peak of pentagermane lies at m/e 222 in the Ge3Hx=0→8+region and not in the parent region. The base peak of hexagermane in the parent region lies at m/e 440. The precise centers of the three metastable regions of pentagermane lie at m/e 95.51, m/e 165.55 and m/e 237.47 respectively.

摘要:
The infrared absorptions of NH4+of aqueous solutions of NH4+salt solutions were recently considered in some detail and, based on changes in the contour of the water band, the effect of anions of the water absorption were discussed.1We find, however, that differences of the contours of absorptions of pure water and of aqueous solutions can easily produce an artifact.

摘要:
The use of repetitive wavelength scanning in qualitative and quantitative flame emission spectroscopy is reported. A repetitive scan is superimposed on a continuous scan and the resulting signal passed through an a.c. signal processing system. Flame background radiation is strongly attenuated and atomic emission lines and sharp bandheads appear as sinusoidal waveforms.

摘要:
A complete mass spectral fragmentation pattern of naturally abundant ethylgermane is presented together with the parent mass spectrum and the m/e 70 to m/e 79 region. The base peak of ethylgermane occurs at m/e 74 in the GeHx=0→3+region and not in the parent region. Five metastable peaks are observed at m/e 48.90, m/e 50.82, m/e 52.64, m/e 54.47, and m/e 56.30.

摘要:
Recent studies1,2of the Raman spectra of liquid ammonia have been in disagreement with regard to the assignment of bands in the 3000 cm−1region. This region is complicated by Fermi resonance between the ν1(A1) fundamental stretching mode and the 2ν4(A1) overtone of the bending mode. In an effort to help clarify these assignments and to study further the structure of liquid ammonia, it was decided to measure the Raman spectrum of several salt solutions in liquid ammonia.

摘要:
The ultra-violet absorption spectrum of uranium hexafluoride has been well documented(1), and some vibrational structure has been reported. The purpose of this work was to determine whether any rotational fine structure was present using conventional high resolution spectrographs. The absorption spectrum of gaseous uranium hexachloride is difficult to study because of the low vapour pressure of the compound and its thermal instability. Previous workers(2)did not publish a spectrum.
