摘要:
Laser optoacoustic spectroscopy technique has been employed to measure the absorption coefficients of seven gas pollutants at CO2laser wavelengths between 9.2 μm and 10.8 μ. All measurements were performed with the pollutant at a low pressure in the presence of 1 atm of nitrogen. Out of these seven gases sub-ppm quantities of ethylene, ammonia, freon 12, thrichlorethylene, ethanol and toluene can be detected with the same apparatus.

摘要:
A spectroscopic examination of the IR absorption features of room temperature UF6has been carried out. We report measurements of the isotope shift for the v3fundamental band and several binary combination bands; measurements of the absorption coefficient per torr as a function of frequency for the v3band for both235UF6and238UF6, determination of the frequency dependence of small signal isotope selectivity for the v3band and binary combination bands, and measurements of the absorption coefficient per torr for the peak absorption of the strong binary combination bands. We both extend the previous measurements of McDowell et al.3on the IR absorption of room temperature UF6and agree with their results in cases where repeat measurements are performed.

摘要:
The main purpose of potential constants,i. e., force and compliance constants, is to provide a quantitative understanding of bonding relationships. Compliance constants have been shown to possess several mathematical advantages over conventional force constants.1-3Compliance constants, however, are parameters which decrease in magnitude as bond strength increases; consequently, their use as bond strength parameters is not particularly satisfying. The desirability of a measure of bond strength which increases in magnitude as the bond becomes stronger, and at the same time possesses all the advantages of compliance constants is self evident. For this reason, the relaxed force constant Tii=1/Ciiwas introduced by Jones some time ago.4In the present communication, this approach is generalized to include relaxed interaction force constants. A brief discussion of their meaning is also presented.

摘要:
The effect of protonation to formanilides was studied by measurements of13C-NMR chemical shifts in CDCl3and methanesulfonic acid. It was found that the13C shift of the ring carbon, to which the amide group is attached, exhibits an upfield shift by the protonation, whereas the peaks of the rest of ring carbons and carbonyl carbon shift downfield. The protonation-induced shifts of the ring carbons were found to be roughly correlated with the differences of the total electron densities between formanilides and their monocations. From the comparison between the protonation-induced shifts and the differences of the total electron densities at the carbons, especially at the carbonyl carbon, it is suggested that N-protonation is partly involved, although O-protonation seems to be dominant.

摘要:
The infrared spectra (4000 − 140 cm−1) of the complexes [Cu(Hgg)X] (Hgg = monoanionic glycylglycinate anion, X = Cl, Br), [M(Hgg)X(H2O)] (M = Mn, Cu, Zn, X = Cl; M = Co, Ni, X = Cl, Br) and their15N-labelled analogues, are discussed in relation to their known or proposed structures. Firm assignments are presented for the majority of the internal ligand modes and for metal-ligand vibrations of the basis of the band shifts resulting from15N-labelling, metal ion substitution and halogen substitution.

摘要:
An analytical method is described for the analysis of furosemide, [4-chloro-2-furfurylamino-5-sulfamoylbenzoic acid], using PMR. The procedure reported in this study is simple, rapid and gives accurate results 98.19 ± 1.34% and 99.23 ± 0.88% for furosemide ampoules and tablets respectively. Furthermore, the PMR spectrum obtained provides a mean for qualitative identification of the drug and checking its purity.
