摘要:
The force constants, coriolis coupling constants, and mean amplitudes of vibration at temperature, T = 0°K, T = 298.15°K and T = 500°K have been reported for the ion RhBr63−for the first time. The results are briefly discussed.

摘要:
Luminescence of dyed systems induced by laser irradiation has been studied. Significant increases in luminescence yield have been observed as the laser pulse width decreases. For nanosecond pulses, the weaker emitting systems had the highest percentage of increase. For short pulses, metastable species are not expected to build up and quench the emission.

摘要:
Raman scattering from water vapor has been observed using a thermally-tuned TEM00ruby laser as excitation for a range of incident wavelengths from 6943.1 Å to 6944 Å covering the strong water absorption line centered at 6943.8 Å with a linewidth of 0.04 Å. Raman scattering cross-section relative to nitrogen has been determined (for the first time to our knowledge) to be 0.39±0.12. No significant enhancement of Raman signal was observed even though the incident ruby was tuned to the absorption line. Possible reasons for the lack of resonance Raman effect are given.

摘要:
The near infrared combination bands of NH2have been previously shown to respond sensitively to weak complex formation of primary aliphatic amines with various solvents including benzene. The association constant, Kπ, of the 4-phenylbutylamine complex with benzene is evaluated from suitable treatment of near infrared spectrophotometric data from an experimental equilibrium system of the amine and complex. K was found to be 0.10 ± 0.005 1/mole.

摘要:
Polarized low-frequency Raman spectra of imidazole single crystals were measured with a He-Ne laser source. A new band at 172 cm−1(Bg) was observed. An assignment for the lattice vibrations of imidazole crystals is proposed on the bases of this Raman data and far-infrared spectral data of Perchard and Novak, as well as the preliminary results calculated from Harada's and Williams' potentials.

The formation of a charge transfer complex between pyridine and halogens or mixed halogens(1,2)brings about perturbations in the infrared spectra of the pyridine molecule and many halogen complexes show two bands in the low frequency range, which can be attributed to thevX-XandvN…Ystretching vibrations.(3–5). However, by comparison, very little has been reported on the Raman spectra of such complexes. Klaboe(6)studied thevBr-BrRaman frequency of some bromine complexes and more recently the Raman spectra of pyridine complexed with Ni (CN)4(7)and TiCl4(8)have been reported. In this work, the Raman spectrum of the 3-Br pyridine-bromine charge transfer complex is investigated.

The mass fragmentation pattern of N-B18H22from m/e 53 to 220 is presented. The major intensities occur from m/e 190 to m/e 220 and in the doubly charged region from m/e 90 to m/e 106. The calculated monoisotopic 70eV and 15eV spectra for the parent region are also presented. A comparison to other spectra is made.

A simple G.C. - atomic absorption device has been built which utilizes an electrically heated carbon atomizer as the detector. This system combines the separation potentials of G.F. with the analytical specificity and sensitivity of atomic absorption spectroscopy.
