摘要:
Although the vibrational spectra and force constants of CH3CN and CD3CN have been thoroughly studied, partially deuterated methyl cyanide has received much less attention. The infrared spectrum of CD2HCN has only recently been reported1 and that of CH2DCN has not yet appeared. Normal coordinate analysis for neither partially deuterated species has appeared. We report here harmonic frequencies and potential energy distributions for both partially deuterated methyl cyanide species, CH2DCN and CD2HCN, based on force fields and structural parameters from CH3CN and CD3CN. The calculated frequencies for CD2HCN are compared with the observed infrared frequencies. The vibrational interaction of the relatively high CN stretching frequency and the CD stretching frequencies is also discussed.

The IR spectra of15N-,18O- and13C-labelled [VO(sal-gly) (H2O)] (sal-gly =N-salicylideneglycinate) derived from labelled glycine, and the unlabelled analogue are discussed. Assignments of the characteristic ligand and metal-ligand vibrations are based on the effects of the isotopic substitutions.

摘要:
Resonant enhancement of the Raman scattering cross section in II - IV semiconductors has recently received much attention both theoretically and experimentally. All existing theories anticipate a monotonic increase in the scattering intensities when the scattering radiation energy approaches the direct-energy gap. Contrary to them in an early Raman study of CdS1a cancellation of scattering efficiencies for the two TO modes prior to the onset of the resonance was pointed out. In a latter work on pure CdS Damen et al.2found even a more pronounced “antiresonance” behavior of the nonpolar E2phonon at 41 cm−1. Thus, this striking feature seems to be rather common for the Raman active modes in CdS for which no electrooptic contribution to the scattering amplitude exists. The experimental data were qualitatively explained by assuming a destructive addition between nonresonant and the weaker resonant terms in LoudoN′s expression for the first-order Raman tensor3. Consequently the cancellation energy difference /EG- hwL/ depends on the ratio of the resonant term to the nonresonant terms.

摘要:
Atomic levels population measurements constitute an essential contribution to various aspects of plasma research: balance and cross-section of inelastic processes, admixtures effects on level excitation mechanism, purposeful optimisation of plasma parameters etc. Atomic level populations in the negative glow of a hollow cathode discharge are of utmost interest in view of the peculiarities of the spectral source: a rich spectrum consisting of gas lines, lines of the cathode material and also lines of the substances introduced in the discharge; intensive atomic and ionic lines of high excitation potentials; small spectral linewidth, convenient for analytical purposes.
