摘要:
The phosphorescence emission characteristics of 1, 4-dinitronaphthatene in some protic and nonprotic solvents at 77°K have been investigated and the lowest triplet state is assigned as3ππ* in this molecule. The observed low phosphorescence intensity and the lifetime values have been attributed to the ‘proximity effect’.

摘要:
Photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) has only recently emerged as a tool for the investigation of the vibrational spectra of condensed matter and surface adsorbates. Qualitative infrared (IR) photoacoustic spectra of various solid materials have been reported both dispersively1–5and in the Fourier transform mode.6–11In order to obtain quantitative information from a photoacoustic spectrum (as would be needed to monitor kinetics of surface reactions or for analytical purposes) it is necessary to convert the single beam spectrum into a double beam spectrum by ratioing against the spectral profile of the source radiation as it impinges on the sample. This is called source normalization.

The increasing importance of complexes of platunum(II) owing to their potential use as antitumour drugs has aroused interest1. Coordination compounds formed by nitrogen donor ligands have been found to be significant in this context. Some of the importantcis-platinammine active antitumour drugs bind covalently to DNA under specific conditions, whereas the inactivetrans-compound does not. Spectral studies of dichloro (2, 2′-bipyridine) platinum(II)2,cis- andtrans-dichloro (dipyridine)platinum(II)3have been undertaken anticipating that these platinum(II) compounds in coordination with a base would provide additional evidence on the electronic configuration of such complexes.cis-Pt(py)2cl2has recently been found to be of biochemical importance and its antitumour and antimitogenic properties have been reported4–6. 摘要:
The blackening behavior of spectral lines emitted by a hollow cathode in the case of copper was further investigated at closer gas pressure intervals (259, 289, 314, 342, 375 and 416 Pa) and electrode distances (15.0, 17.5, 20.0, 22.5, 25.0, 27.5, 30.0, and 33.0 mm). Results show that a pressure range from 300 to 380 Pa can be considered a transition region in which the electrode distance corresponding to blackening maximum shifts progressively from 20 to 33 mm. These data agree with previous findings on the dependene of photographic blackening of copper spectral lines on electrode distance.

摘要:
GLC-Mass spectrometric study of the distilled alkaloids of Haloxylon persicum which gorws wild in Saudi Arabia reveals the presence of cotinine as a minor alkaloid as well as anabasine which is a major alkaloid and nicotine which is also a minor alkaloid. The presence of both anabasine and nicotine has been previously established by other means. The occurrence of cotinine in the plant furnishes a supporting evidence for the presence of nicotine in Haloxylon persicum.

The Raman active vibrational fundamentals of lanthanide oxybromides, LnOBr, where Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Tm, Yb and Lu, have been reported in solid phase and the observed data have been analyzed by comparison with those of the oxyclorides on the basis of the results of factor group analysis.

摘要:
13C-NMR spectra of several 9-acridanones with different substituents both on the ring (R1= CH3, OCH3, NH2, N(CH3)2, NO2) and at the nitrogen atom (R2= H, CH3C2H5, CH2-C6H5, C≡C-CH3, (CH2)2N(C2H2)2, CH=C=CH2) have been recorded. The C-NMR chemical shifts are discussed as a function of the nature of the substituent, the importance of peri steric interactions and the electronic structure of the acridanone ring. There is a good linear relationship between the total electronic density and the chemical shifts.

Shock tube provides a promising tool of studying high temperature chemical reaction in gases. The heating by shock wave is uniform, extremely fast and intense. So that the temperature may rise thousands of degrees in a fraction of a second. Observations of the effects of this heating on C6H6has shown extensive decomposition into C2and CN.

In continuation of our work1on the interaction of organic materials with Europium shift reagents we report the first absolute binding constants (K) for amide substrates with Eu(thd)3. We have also measured K for some quaternary ammonium and phosphonium salts with the flurinated analogue, Eu(fod)3-d27.
