摘要:
Despite the profusion of literature associated with analytical atomic spectrometric techniques, very little has been reported concerning the development of detector systems. This is particularly surprising in view of the current trend in atomic spectrometry towards the use of non-flame atom reservoirs. These devices frequently produce weak transient signals and dc level detector systems designed for steady state measurements are in consequence often unsatisfactory. High speed recorders may be used with success providing the total response time of the various electronic components is comparable with or preferably less than that of the signal duration and only in such instances will precise measurement of the signal be achieved (1,2). The use of absolute integration techniques are obvious for this type of measurement, although their application has not been particularly forthcoming to date. Photon counting would seem to have many advantages for such purposes, although with the exception of the more general studies of Morton (3) and Malmstadt and co-workers (4) it has received so far little consideration. Indeed its use as a detection system in analytical atomic fluorescence and emission spectrometry has yet to be reported.

摘要:
The interferometric experiments on the convection of white light in flowing water first done by Fizeau in 1851 and later repeated by Michelson and Morley in 1886 are quantitatively meaningless. The work by Zeeman in 1914 on flowing water is in agreement with an incorrect formulation. His observations can also be interpreted to be in agreement with the conventional addition of speeds rather than the Einstein addition theorem. Zeeman's experiments with moving quartz rods led to ambiguous and inaccurate results. His experiments on moving glass rods are also quantitatively meaningless due to the use of white rather than monochromatic light. Experiments with a “ring” laser interferometer published in 1964 present results both in agreement and in disagreement with an incorrectly formulated prediction.

摘要:
The ring laser experiments, reported in 1964, by Macek, Schneider, and Salamon on the convection of light in moving media were incorrectly formulated. Optical path changes due to convection were overlooked. The Einstein addition theorem for parallel motion was inappropriately applied for non-parallel motion. The alleged agreement construed between wrong theory and experiment for moving quartz and air is inconclusive. The results presented for flowing CCl4, which did not agree with the incorrect formulation, contradict the correct Einstein and/or ether theory formulation. Excellent agreement is found instead for the experiment on CCl4and the correctly formulated prediction based on (etherless) classical kinematics.

摘要:
In earlier papers I presented interplanetary radar evidence that disproves Einstein's second postulate of a constant light velocity. Although the second postulate has proven to be false, there is ample empirical evidence that supports many of the predictions that he made. This paper expands on a dynamic ether hypothesis that seems to have the potential ability of explaining all empirical data in relatively simple terms.

摘要:
The dissociation energies of Bismuth and Beryllium monofluorides have been evaluated by fitting the electronegativity potential energy function to the experimental potential energy curves of these molecules. The dissociation energies obtained in this manner have been compared with the values reported earlier and have been discussed with special reference to the binding in these molecules.

摘要:
Schweitzer and Stephens have recently suggested that the hydration numbers of Al3+and Ga3+and Ga3+in aqueous solutions containing a considerable excess of chloride ion are probably less than six. Hydration numbers as low as 4.64 (in 1.44 M AlCl3+ 2.15 M CaCl2) or 4.61 (in 0.645 M GaCl3+ 3.32 M CaCl2) were obtained.1That Ga3+forms chloro-complexes under these conditions is well known though interaction between Al3+and chloride is considered unlikely in aqueous solution.2–4
