The diffuse reflectance spectra of some lanthanide complexes have been reported1,2,3,4,5recently by the authors. Since neodymium sulfate does not form good single crystal, it was thouht worthwhile to study its diffuse reflectance spectrum. The present communication reports the, values of Slater-Condon (Fk), Racah (Ek), Landé (χ4f), bonding (bk) and screening parameters, and electronic energy states computed from the observed diffuse reflectance of tris-neodymium sulfate.

摘要:

A simple pseudo-double beam atomic absorption spectrometer capable of compensating for nonspecific absorption is described. A repetitive wavelength scanning technique is used to sequentially measure intensities of line and line plus continuum radiation. The system is easily built up from common laboratory components.

A Complete mass spectral fragmentation pattern of naturally abundant trigermane is presented. The base peak lies at m/e 148 in the Ge2Hx =0 → 6+region unlike the m/e 222 peak in the parent region of monoisotopic trigermane.1

The infrared spectra of pentacyanonitrosyl complexes of iron and manganese have been widely investigated1–4, and approximate potential field calculated.2–4No similar study has been made, however, for the analogous complex K3Cr(CN)5NO for which only partial data exist in the literature.5,6We report a more extensive investigation making use of15NO and single crystal polarised spectra.

Since Hinckley's discovery1, that lanthanide-complexes are useful tools in resolving complex NMR-spectra, this method has been widely used. Especially the work of Williams2has contributed materially to the application of this technique in organic chemistry. In this paper, the Eu(DPM)3-complex was used to determine the configuration of a naphtho[2,3-b]thiophene-Diels-Alder adduct.
