摘要:
The study of the emission spectrum of AsO obtained by reacting AsCl3+ O2with potassium vapor in a diffusion flame has suggested a population inversion of the molecules in the A'2πi(a) state. A reaction mechanism has been proposed explaining this inversion of population.

摘要:
The authors obtain the infrared rotation-vibrational spectra of gaseous methanol and acetonitrile and the Raman spectra of liquid ones. The vibrational spectrum of methanol has been analyzed on the basis of Cssymmetry. On the other hand, the vibrational spectrum of acetonitrile has been assigned to C3vsymmetry. The present observations show that the vibrational spectrum of methanol as well as acetonitrile seems to be explained according to C3vselection rules. Because it is in agreement with theoretical expectations for C3vmodel that four parallel type fundamental bands are polarized in Raman and have P, Q, and R branches in infrared, whose P-R separations are observed to be 40 cm−1in CH3OH and 24 cm−1in CH3CN and the agreement of the obtained values with 43 cm−1of CH3OH and 26.7 cm−1of CH3CN calculated on the basis of C3vsymmetry is regarded as satisfactory. In addition, the obtained spectrum of CH3OH shows a marked correspondence to those of CH3CN, CH3Br and CH3I whose symmetry is C3v.

摘要:
The infrared spectra (4000–100 cm−1) of the complexes [M(picO)2(H2O)2] and [M(picO)2(D2O)2] (picO = picolinateN-oxide; M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) are discussed. The spectra show that coordination of picO occurs through the carboxyl andN-oxide oxygen atoms and that the water molecules are coordinated to the metal ions. Assignments for the three species of metal-oxygen stretching frequencies are proposed on the basis of the effects of metal ion substitution, replacement of H2O by D2O and dehydration of the copper(II) complex.

摘要:
As a new method for measuring the R-CID spectra of solid samples, we attempted to obtain the spectra by melting samples into liquid state. That is, the special R-CID cell for high temperature use was made and the R-CID spectra ofl-menthol andl-pantoyl lactone in the molten state were measured. The signal to noise ratios of their spectra were improved when compared with those in the solution state. It can be expected that the number of measurable solid samples in the R-CID spectroscopy should increase by use of the technique developed here.

A new assay procedure has been developed for the quantitation of carvone as a pure compound and in essential oils using PMR technique. The average recovery of pure carvone in standard mixtures using benzophenone as an internal standard is 100.11 + 0.56% w/w.

摘要:
The aromatic13C substituent constant for the -CH2COOCH3group is obtained by selectively irradiating phenylacetic acid methyl ester. The value so obtained is used for refining the literature values of the -OH and -OCH3substituent constants and for assigning all the aromatic lines in six derivative isomers. Formetaandparaisomers, calculated and experimental values for all the aromatic13C resonances are within 0.2 ppm. For purposes of evaluating a rapid qualitative analytical method for the biologically important phenylacetic acid derivatives, the1H resonances are obtained and assigned, and the benzylic methylene chemical shifts are shown to be specifically diagnostic of aromatic isomerism for these derivatives.
