摘要:
Complexes of iron (II) with cysteine-HCl and methyl-cysteine-HCl are of interest as models for iron (II) coordination in proteine - Infrared and Raman spectra of these complexes and their free ligands are reported. These results show that cysteine is bounded to iron through sulfur, nitrogen and oxygen in Fe(Cyst)(H2O)1,5(A) and through sulfur and nitrogen in Na2Fe(Cyst)2H2O (B), Fe(metCyst)2(H2O)1,5(C).

The inductively coupled Ar plasma (ICP) is introduced as a multielement excitation source for flame atomic fluorescence spectrometry. The ICP-excited and the EDL-excited atomic fluorescence detection limits are compared for 20 elements.

摘要:
Infrared and Raman spectra of CO˭3ions are different in the two crystallographic forms of CaCO3Calcite and Aragonite owing to their different site symmetries. Due to this fact, i.r. has been used to assess the reversible Calcite ← → Aragonite transformation which occurs upon grinding of CaCO3, and much work has been done in this field in the last few years(1-4). In the present paper data are reported on Raman spectra of Calcite and Aragonite forms of CaCO3produced by the above mechanical procedure.

摘要:
The mass spectra of a series of substituted diaryl α-iminonitriles are reported. The most significant fragmentations arise from the following processes: (1) cleavage of the C-CN bond, (2) elimination of the R group from the substituted aryl ring, (3) formation of a phenyl cation (C6H5+), and (4) loss of a hydrogen atom from the parent ion. Anomolous behaviour was shown by the p-(t-butyl) derivative and reasons for this are discussed.

摘要:
The pyruvate ion is a biochemically important molecule, but its vibrational spectra appear not to have been studied previously in any detail. In view of this, and our interest in the vibrational spectra of simple organic acids and their derivatives, it seemed desirable to carry out a detailed analysis of the vibrational spectra of this ion. Sodium pyruvate is only sparingly soluble in water at ambient temperatures and is insoluble in common organic solvents. The spectra were therefore recorded on crystals which were purchased from Aldrich Chemical Company, recrystallized from distilled water and washed with CCl4. The crystal structure of sodium pyruvate has been determined previously by x-ray diffraction1. The molecule crystallizes in the P21/a space group with four molecules per unit cell. The CO2−group is rotated 18° from the plane containing the other heavy atoms.
