摘要:
The Pt(4d)/Al(2s) XPS intensity ratio for Pt/Al2O3catalysts increases with the addition of La2O3as a dopant. The Pt(311) line in the X-ray diffraction pattern also broadens with the addition of La2O3. These data imply that doping the Pt/Al2O3catalyst with La2O3increases the dispersion of the platinum which in turn would be expected to increase the activity and thermal stability of the catalyst.

摘要:
A simple NMR spectroscopic method is described for the assay of busulfan in tablets. Methenamine is used as the internal standard and chloroform-d as the solvent. The mean recovery value for the drug from standard mixtures was 99.3 ± 0.182% w/w (n = 5) by the NMR method and 99.2% (n = 2) by the official method. The mean content of busulfan in commercial tablet samples was 99.4 ± 0.16 (range 99.1 – 99.6)% w/w (CV = 0.16%, n = 10) by the NMR method and 99.5 ± 0.17 (range 99.2 – 99.8)% w/w (CV = 0.17%, n = 10) by the official method.

摘要:
A simple, specific and accurate proton magnetic resonance (PMR) procedure has been developed for the quantitative determination of diethylcarbamazine in standard mixtures and tablets. The average recovery of the pure drug in standard mixtures with maleic acid as an internal standard was 100.03 ± 0.11% w/w. Reproducible results were obtained when the drug was determined in its tablet dosage form.

摘要:
With a view to extend the tunability range using new derivatives in the coumarin series of dyes, a novel series have been synthesized, viz. the biscoumarins where two coumarin nuclei are coupled. These are studied for their lasing characteristics, optical spectra and quantum efficiencies. Laser spectra of these dyes in various solvents are also studied. Tunability range of these dyes have been found to cover blue green region of the spectrum and though there is shift to longer wavelength as compared to monocoumarins, extending the tunability range, it is not as much as would be normally expected with extended conjugation involving two coumarin nucled.

Atomic fluorescence spectrometry and direct flame photometry are evaluated as alternative methods for the determination of inorganic sulfide in municipal sewage. The sulfide is volatilized as H2S from the sewage influent or effluent sample, which has been stabilized by a 0.05 M sodium ascorbate buffer. Both flame spectrometric methods are more sensitive than the standard colorimetric method, but quantification is easier for the atomic fluorescence method. The latter technique has a wide linear dynamic range and is unaffected by a gradual increase in the residual H2S level in the system. The atomic fluorescence signal is also unaffected by the presence of volatile hydrocarbons in the sewage. The results obtained with the fluorescence method agree well with those obtained with the standard method, while the flame photometric results are low. Studies on the effect of metal ions on the fluorescence signal indicate that the method determines “total sulfide”.

A chemiluminescent flame was produced in the reaction between GeCl4and an excited mixture of argon or helium with oxygen. Spectra of the reaction products were recorded and studied. Relative populations of the products in analyzed electronic, vibrational and rotational states corresponded to different temperatures.
