摘要:
Until the present time the use of organic fuels in flame spectroscopy has been restricted to those fuels which could ire presented to the burner in the vapor phase. The possibility of introducing organic liquids directly into a burner system allows simple access to a broad range of fuels which hitherto have not been investigated.

摘要:
In an earlier work1we have investigated an oriented crystal of pyrimidine at liquid nitrogen temperature using polarized infrared radiation. The static field effect for an A2mode (16a) and correlation field splitting for fourteen fundamentals have been observed1. This paper reports the Raman spectrum of crystalline pyrimidine at liquid nitrogen temperature.

Dagnall, Taylor, and West have recently compared detection limits for a number of metals in atomic fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy and have concluded that “atomic fluorescence measurements using an electrodeless discharge tube are inherently more sensitive than those obtainable by atomic absorption measurements”. Likewise West and Williams have compared the two techniques for magnesium2and silver3, using high-intensity hollow-cathode lamps as sources, and have found much lower detection limits in fluorescence than in absorption.
