摘要:
Study of corrosion phenomena associated with the use of molten salts as coolants raised interest in the behaviour of various metal ions in such melts. Gruen & McBeth1, in the early sixties, studied various transition metal ions in LiCl/KCl eutectic. The purpose of the present letter is an attempt to correlate ESR data with data derived from optical spectroscopy, in particular with respect to the equilibrium between hexa- and tetra-coördinate species of Ti(III) with chlorine ions.

摘要:
The oscillator strength, f, of the1A1–1T2(t1–2e) transition of both chromate and permanganate ions have been calculated by LCAO-MO method using Slater type orbitals1(STO's) and by crystal field approach2. These computed values do not agree with the observed ones3. A detailed study of dipole moment of permanganate ion reveals4that STO's do not represent true state of affairs and more exact atomic orbitals must be used. The double-ζ 3d AO's with radial functions of the formwherederived by Richardson and hi8 coworkers5duplicate verg nearly the SCF AO's determined by Watson6, which are quite exact. ALCAO-MO paremetric calculation In terms of single parameter, β, the ligand mixing coefficient using Richardson's orbitals and both dipole velocity and dipole length operators has been reported in the present paper.

摘要:
Methanesulfenyl chloride (CH3SC1) has been used frequently as a reactant, especially in the study of its addition across carbon-carbon double bonds.1–4In the course of preliminary chemical kinetic investigations of the gas phase chlorination of small sulfur containing molecules, quantitative ultraviolet spectra data for CH3SC1 were needed to calculate the rate of formation of reaction products. We report here the extinction coefficients for CH3SC1 in the wavelength region 2000 Å to 4000 Å. To our knowledge these have not been reported previously.

摘要:
Previously1we have observed a19NMR asymmetric line in polycrystalline ThF4in the 6–9 kOe fields, which was ascribed to the anisotropy of the19F nuclei screening constant. However, the accepted interpretation in the case of a powder sample is not the only possible one, since in the presence of chemically or structurally non-equivalent fluorine atom groups spectrum asymmetry may also arise on account of the difference in the nuclei magnetic screening constants due to non-equivalent positions. This dilemma in the case of polycrystalline samples may be solved only when recording spectra in the highest fields. Non-equivalence of the nuclei may lead, to a split of the NMR spectrum into components, corresponding to the various positions. When spectrum asymmetry is due to the anisotropy of the screening constant, field strength rise may but lead to an increase of the total spectrum width, its shape remaining unaltered.

摘要:
The ellipsoid theory Is a modification of the ether theory coupled with time dilation. It is not in conflict with any known observational evidence. Certain astronomical evidence, which conflicts with relativity theory, supports the ellipsoid theory. The moon laser experiment will serve as a direct test of the validity of both theories.
