摘要:
The (1,0) and (1,1) bands of the B→X and (0,1) and (0,2) bands of the D→X systems have been photographed in the second and third orders, respectively, of a 10.6 meter concave grating spectrograph and the rotational structures of these bands have been analysed. The rotational constants for the most abundant isotopic molecule Pb208O16are derived as follows:

摘要:
The ground state dissociation energies of CN, PbF, SiF, SnF, SnS and NBr molecules have been estimated using the empirical electronegativity potential function proposed by Szöke and Baitz. The dissociation energies for these molecules have been found to be 7.9, 3.2, 4.2, 3.2, 3.0 and 2,7 eV respectively and compared with the earlier values.

摘要:
The ultraviolet absorption spectra of 36 new N-arylhydroxamic acids have been recorded in 95% ethanol. The effect of solvent such as cyclohexane, dioxane, and water on the absorption spectra of hydroxamic acids is examined qualitatively. The spectra of a few hydroxamic acids are also determined in 0.1 N HCl and 0.1 N NaOH to examine the absorption characteristics of the molecular and anionic species. The salient feature of these spectra have been briefly discussed.

摘要:
The use of the high-temperature nitrous oxide-acetylene flame both in atomic absorption and emission spectroscopy can be hazardous. In particular, the high burning velocity of this gas mixture can cause serious flashback when supported on the conventional slot-type burner. For safe operation of the N2O-C2H2flame on a slot burner, it is necessary to maintain a high total gas issuing velocity. Commonly, burner start-up procedures require initially lighting a less flashbackprone mixture—and then switching over to nitrous oxide. Often differential flow controllers are employed so that the change over can be accomplished smoothly. However, in conventional burners, if the proper flow rates are not maintained during this change over and during subsequent operation, a rather violent flashback can occur.
