摘要:
Earliest Devonian graptolites are described from a fossiliferous band of the Lalei Formation at Lila in Ximeng county, southwestern Yunnan, China. As known from the 12 localities globally, the species described in this paper,Monograptus uniformisPribyl,M. aequabilis(Pribyl) andM. microdonRichter, are mainly distributed along the marginal basins around different platforms and occasionally on the platform. The occurrence of theuniformisassemblage both in Ximeng and Qinzhou, China, provides more significant evidence for defining the Silurian — Devonian boundary in China.

摘要:
A new species of conocoryphid trilobite,Atops rupertensis, is described from the upper part of the Lower Cambrian Hawker Group of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia.Atopshas not been previously described from Australia. The specimens described herein represent the most detailed material yet available for the genus; a new generic diagnosis is given. It is suggested thatIvshiniellusKorobov is a synonym ofAtops; the material described asIvshiniellus briandailyifrom the Heatherdale Shale near Adelaide probably belongs inAtops. It is possible thatAtopinaKorobov is a synonym ofPseudatopsLake.

摘要:
Three new species of macropodids,Ganawamaya acrisgen. et sp. nov.,G. ornatasp. nov., andG. aediculissp. nov., are described from the Early to Mid Miocene limestone deposits of Riversleigh, northwestern Queensland. I1morphology is similar to that reported in undescribed species from the Kutjumarpu Local Fauna and may represent a synapomorphy for Balbarinae. Molar morphology of the species ofGanawamayais intermediate between that of the known species ofNambarooand those ofBalbaroo. Deep penetration of the masseteric canal within the mandible, as seen inG. acrisandG. aediculisand now known to occur in other Riversleigh balbarine species, is suggested as a potential macropodoid synapomorphy.

摘要:
A new bothriolepidoid antiarch of small size,Luquanolepis pileosgen. et sp. nov. is described from the Early Devonian of Luquan County, Yunnan Province. Only remains of the trunk armour are known. It is characterised by the long dorsal wall, with a strong posterior process formed by the posterior median dorsal and posterior dorsolateral plates, the posterior median dorsal longer and broader than the anterior median dorsal, a strongly developed posterior internal tranverse crista anteriorly placed at about the middle of the length of the dorsal trunk armour, and an independent posterior lateral plate. It is one of the few antiarchs known from the Early Devonian which has a developed brachial process and segmented pectoral fin. The small unpaired semilunar plate, subanal lamina and other features indicate bothriolepid affinities, and the separate posterior lateral suggests it is a stem taxon within the bothriolepidoids, a group to which 13 genera are assigned. Distribution of 19 characters amongst these taxa is summarised in a data matrix used in a computer-assisted cladistic analysis of the group to produce over 100 equally parsimonious trees. By eliminating poorly known taxa and characters from the analysis and inferring some missing character states 14 equally parsimonious trees were produced for 10 bothriolepidoid taxa.Luquanolepisis regarded as the most primitive member within the clade, consistent with the fact that it is the oldest bothriolepidoid genus so far discovered.

摘要:
Palynofloras from an outlier of Tertiary sediments in the One Tree Hill area north of Adelaide are nonmarine and correlate with similar assemblages from Middle Eocene North Maslin Sands from Maslin Bay and Golden Grove. Although there are similarities with time-equivalent LowerNothofagidites asperusZone palynofloras in the Gippsland Basin, a number of species in the South Australian palynofloras do not extend below the Late Eocene in the Gippsland sequences. This indicates earlier appearances for these species in southcentral Australia. The sediments overlie a highly weathered bedrock palaeosurface, indicating that a phase of significant weathering occurred prior to the Middle Eocene. A number of selected taxa are illustrated and their distribution in the palynofloras is discussed. Two new species,Proteacidites mildenhalliiandProteacidites parrawirrensis, are described and one species,Rhoipites byfieldensis, is emended.
