摘要:
The Cooley–Tukey fast Fourier transform (FFT) has had an extraordinary impact on the computation of Fourier transforms. A tutorial account is given of how the algorithm works and of its relationship to the more familiar continuous Fourier transform and Fourier series. Some pitfalls associated with sampled data over a finite window are outlined. Several examples are given illustrating how the FFT is useful as a teaching tool to introduce the subtleties of spectral analysis of sampled data by interactive minicomputer experiments. A bibliography to the literature is given.

摘要:
Computer‐generated holograms have been produced on the plotter of an HP 9100B desk‐top calculator. The use of simple stick objects allows us to calculate analytically the Fourier transform, the amplitude and relative phase of which are represented on the plot. Techniques for efficiency enhancement and saturation reduction are discussed.

摘要:
The problem of phase shift analysis of one‐dimensional scattering is investigated. It is shown that conditions required by Eberly are not sufficient for guaranteeing parameterization of scattering amplitude by phase shifts. The weak point of Eberly’s reasoning is indicated, and the missing condition is specified.
