AbstractResults of investigations on the polymerization of chloropheyl glycidyl ethers containing from one up to five chlorine atoms in the benzene ring, carried out in the presence of coordination initiators Al(OiPr)3/ZnCl2, AlEt3/H2O, AlEt2(OiPr)/H2O and ZnEt2/H2O are presented. Some new isotactic polymers were obtained in this way. The influence of monomer structure and initiator type on the properties of the polymer obtained and on its chain microstructure is discussed.

AbstractA low‐alpha and a high‐alpha dissolving pulp prepared from Egyptian bagasse by the nitric acid process were subjected to cold sodium hydroxide refining and the resulting changes in their chemical and physical characteristics were investigated. AbstractA survey of transition phenomenology in amorphous entangled polymers is presented. Using a general scaling hypothesis characteristic lengths are systematically attached to the different zones of the multiple glass transition. New experimental results show the location of caloric spectra between the peaks ofG″andJ″on the common frequency scale. A fine structure of the main transition is suggested.
