摘要:
Four aeolid species, all newly recorded for New Zealand waters, are described. Three are known species; they areTularia bractea(Burn) andEubranchus rubeolusBurn from Australia andEubranchus agriusMarcus from Chile; the New Zealand specimens show slight variation. The fourth species,Coryphella albomarginatasp. nov., is distinguished from close relatives by the opaque white band along the margin of the foot, two centrally placed (in relation to the main reproductive ducts) bursae copulatrices and several small, blunt denticles on the outer edge of the lateral teeth of the radula. The families to which these species belong, the Flabellinidae(Coryphella albomarginata, Tularia bractea)and Eubranchidae(Eubranchus agrius, E. rubeolus), are recognized and defined and the constituent genera examined and reduced in number. A new genus,Paracoryphella, and family, the Paracoryphellidae, are created forCoryphella islandicaOdhner. The classification of the aeolids is reviewed:Odhner's order Aeolidacea is considered a very satisfactory major category, but his grouping of the families into tribes is discarded on the grounds that the diagnostic character, the position of the anus in relation to the cerata, is too variable within individual families.

摘要:
Twenty‐two species of Doridacea are described from the vicinity of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. None is new to science, but one species of the genusGymnodoriswas too immature to be fully identified. Ten of the 22 species are known from the Hawaiian Islands, indicating that many species of dorid occur throughout the Indian Ocean and the Pacific as far as Hawaii. One species(Jorunna tomentosa)appears to be cosmopolitan, and two may possibly be confined to the coast of Africa(Chromodoris annulataandC. vicind).Sixty‐nine species of dorid have already been reported from Tanzania by Eliot. Nine species in the present collection were not found by him, so 78 are now known from the a

摘要:
Examination of plants in areas as far apart as Malham Tarn, Yorkshire; Gower peninsula, Glamorgan; Salcombe, Devon; and Kew Gardens, London have revealed populations of aphids not previously recorded in Britain or only occasionally reported. The various species, including one new subspecies(Fimbriaphis fimbriata pernettyaesubsp. nov.)have been cultured in laboratory and several produced morphs which hitherto have not been described. Full biometric data are included, together with a key to alate and apterous viviparae of British species ofLipaphisMordvilko and ofFimbriaphisRichards.

摘要:
In the spring of 1969 the authors obtained a number of specimens of the BrachiopodTerebratulina retusa.L. while dredging for marine specimens off the west coast of Scotland. It was found that this species of Brachiopod could be kept alive for a number of weeks under aquarium conditions, apparently healthy and performing several activities connected with feeding. These activities are described, and some conclusions drawn as to their significance. Some suggestions are also made on physico‐chemical stimulation of the feeding cycle and its possible significance with regard to the microscopic structure of the shell in theterebratulid
