摘要:
Eight species of the predatory gastropodDrupaare abundant in exposed habitats of Indo‐Pacific coral reefs. The diets of seven species and two subspecies were investigated by gut content analysis of over 1400 specimens from a number of localities from the Red Sea to the western Pacific. Two species,D. grossulariaandD. lobata, are sipunculan specialists, whilstD. morumandD. rubusidaeus mainly eat eunicid polychaetes.Drupa ricinusand probablyD. elegansfeed upon a wide variety of prey including crustacea, vermetid gastropods, chitons, polychaetes and sipunculans. The Red Sea subspeciesD. ricinus hadarialso eats small gobiid fish.Drupa clathrata clathrata, probably the least advanced species in the genus, has a diet of molluscs and barnacles, similar to that of other thaiid gastropod

摘要:
Eighteen opisthobranch species are described and illustrated from the Sudanese Red Sea, including seven new species, one new subspecies and three species for which this is the first Red Sea record. Eleven bullomorphs, four pleurobranchomorphs, four sacoglossans and four phyllidiid mudibranchs are now known from the Red Sea.There appears to be a high percentage of endemic species in the Red Sea. This is what one might expect, in view of the conditions of near isolation, low temperatures and high salinity that prevailed in this sea 13000 23000 years ago.Of the groups discussed in this paper, one Red Sea species has invaded the Mediterranean Sea, and one Mediterranean species has invaded the Red Sea, since the opening of the Suez Canal in 1867.Many Red Sea species are very colourful, in comparison to Mediterranean ones. This could perhaps be because Red Sea waters are cleaner, thereby favouring the evolution of greater precision in colour markings.

摘要:
Two new species of freeliving marine nematodes belonging to the generaMetadesmolaimusandStephanolaimusare fully described and illustrated. Figures and tables are given to aid identification of all of the valid species of each of the genera. The new species,Metadesmolaimus gaelicusandStephanolaimus jayasreei, are described from a sandy beach in Co. Down, Northern Ireland but they have also been recorded from Scottish localities.

摘要:
A list is given of the recently recurated Orthoptera s.l. held by the Linnean Society of London. The status of specimens in the collection is evaluated, eight lectotype designations are made, and the orthopteroid species described by Linnaeus are listed alphabetically.

摘要:
Mr Neville Pledge, Curator of Fossils at the South Australian Museum, has informed us that the nameKimberiawhich we used to describe a new genus of arthrodire from Gogo (Dennis‐Bryan&Miles, 1983) is preoccupied by a gastropod. This was described by Cotton&Woods (1935) as a subgenus ofTurritellaLamarck, the type species beingTurritella (Kimberia) kimberi. We therefore propose to substitute the nameKimberleyichthysgen. nov. for the arthrodir
