摘要:
AbstractThe distribution of paired stamens has been investigated in the Magnoliatae. Stamens can be inserted in pairs as the result of two developmental processes: (a) spatial shifts in the flower caused by the transition of a spiral into a cyclic arrangement of floral parts or (b) dédoublement of complex primordia. The first case is linked with a progressive loss of stamen whorls, ultimately leading to the replacement of all pairs by single stamens. Outer paired stamens are characteristic for polycyclic androecia and are often retained when the upper stamen whorls vanish. The outer pairs may be replaced by petals in some cases or by single stamens in other. The second situation arises by the splitting of complex primordia in two secondary primordia or by the independent initiation of the stamens of a pair. Replacement of single stamens by pairs reflects an increase in the pollination potential and has arisen several times, mainly in relation with oligomerous androecia. The distribution of these two types of stamen pairs on a Dahlgrenogram confirms the existence of two groups. These groups correspond more or less with the presence of the characters polymery and oligomery, proposed by RONSE DECRAENE&SMETS (1987, 1993b, 1995b)

摘要:
AbstractDie Infloreszenzmorphologie von Arten der GattungIlexL. (Aquifoliaceae) wurde untersucht. Folgende Arten wurden berücksichtigt:I. brevicuspisREISS.,I. dumosaREISS.,I. integerrima(VELL.) REISS.,I. microdontaREISS.,I. paraguariensisST.‐HIL.,I. pseudobuxusREISS.,I. tauberianaLOES. undI. theezansMART. ex REISS.Homologien wurden bereits in einer früheren Studie der annuellen Entwicklung mittels Markierung der Sprosse nachgewiesen.

摘要:
AbstractThe micromorphology of epicuticular waxes of all 13 genera of the Caprifoliaceae have been examined by scanning electron microscopy. The majority of waxy genera – representing almost all tribus – show wax platelets on their cuticles. In contrast to this wax tubules characterize onlySymphoricarpos, and members of the tribus Caprifolieae.Symphoricarpos, which has hitherto an uncertain position in the Caprifoliaceae and often be considered as a member of the tribe Linnaeeae should now be incorporated into Caprifolieae. These necessary integration was already made by WEBERL

摘要:
AbstractEight taxonomically related taxa of the genusLomelosia(Dipsacaceae) from Greece, had been examined for their fatty acid and sterol composition. Separation and identification of the lipid fraction was achieved by GC and GC‐MS. Moreover, these taxa were screened for their antibacterial properties against six of the most common Gram bacteria. The relation between chemical pattern and taxonomy is discusse

AbstractThe root‐anatomy of 13 genera of Calamoideae, of the 22 genera accepted by UHL&DRANSFIELD (1987) has been studied.Although this subfamily seems to be homogeneous, there are many features in the roots which allow to distinguish the genera and it becomes evident, that Calamoideae show no close relationship to Coryphoid palm

摘要:
AbstractApomictic behaviour inCostus afer – C. lucanusianus(Costaceae) complex in Southern Nigeria had been investigated. This study showed that these species have produced intermediates which could be regarded as hybrid. Observations made on the inflorescence axis and the floral development revealed the exhibition of apomixis inC. lucanusianusJ. BRAUN&K. SCHUM. and the natural hybrid but total absence of this behaviour inC. aferKER‐GAWL. In addition to apomictic behaviour,C. lucanusianusalso reproduces by seed – (sexual reproduction). The outcome of the reproductive behaviour and the floral features of these taxa are the major causes of the taxonomic confusions commonly encountered by field biologists when grouping these taxa. However, the different mechanisms of apomixis give rise to a common endresult – the preservation of pure lines by essentially vegetative propagation, which produces the pattern of variation observed. Morphological characteristics of these taxa also suggest the occurrence of hybridisation in the complex; a fact that needs to be corroborated by evidence from studies on other areas such as palynology, cytology and breeding behaviour. The biological implications of these findings are interesting enough and have been discussed in this paper to the interest of the field workers, especially the taxo
